Isis shuts down women's clinics in Raqqa to prevent male gynaecologists treating female patients | Middle East | News | The Independent

Isis is believed to have ordered the closure of all women’s clinics supervised by male doctors in its Syrian heartlands in its latest assault on the rights of women. A culture of rape, forced marriages for child brides, the persecution of doctors and the exclusive use of medicines for militants have resulted in a crisis for women’s health under Isis’s brutal regime.

Perhaps ISIS was jealous of Texas's progress?

This could be just pandering to the Republican base.

hopefully neither of you are being serious....

I won't know until later. So far Texas has shut down 28 clinics while Isis has only shut down the clinics in one province. More remains to be seen whether ISIS truly has their heart in it when compared to Texas.

28 clinics for women's health. Shut down in Texas. Take that in. And if by the the "extremism" you're referring to the fundamental sects of Islam and Christianity that have gigantic bugs up their buts regarding women's health and reproductive freedom, that would be correct. On a separate not, Orthodox Judaism, while also extremely conservative by nature, has not to my knowledge or experience expressed interest in legislating reproductive rights for women outside their faith, but I don't know if I'm willing to bet money on that quite yet. Every religion appears to have its cray cray components.

Your post is nonresponsive and a gross demonstration of denialism, especially in light of your response to the headline that this constituted 'an actual by gawd.. "war on women". It's utterly horrible.'

So if the closing of women's health clinics by Isis is a real "war on women," how do you resolve the closing of 28 women's health clinics in Texas? Is the closing of those clinics acceptable because they were carried out by fundamentalist Christians rather than fundamentalist Muslims?

I'm sorry that you're frustrated that I won't engage your extremism... I won't lend it validity or credibility by pretending you have a good argument or that's worthy of proper debate.... you are free to believe ISIS is better than Texas no matter what i do though.

No wonder Isis extremest are trying to get someone like US,, Russia or just anyone to kill them, they never even get to see a woman, let alone get any.

Why would I hold all of Texas responsible for the actions of its fundamentalist Christians? And I don't believe Isis is better than fundamentalist Christians, because while those Christians have certainly waged a very real war on women through legislative means, Isis would show very little hesitation at the prospect of killing those women outright.

Although if you're happy with the idea that the only difference between the two is in how far they're willing to go to achieve the same goal, that's your thing I guess.

I probably shouldn't laugh, but it was funny.

Why is it an extremist belief to point out that both ISIS and Republicans want to shut down women's health clinics?
