The Syrian military is on the verge of Collapse......

It is being reported that Assad is on the Verge of Collapse.....what will he do now? What are his options? If he stepped down, what would change in Syria with what is left?





Fatigued, over-stretched, and losing the support of its base constituency, the Syrian Army is conceivably nearing the point of collapse. Major rebel offenses have taken control of the strategic cities of Idlib and Jisr al-Shegour in the north. Meanwhile, a second rebel offensive in the south has been steadily working its way towards Damascus, the capital.

These steady rebel gains have demoralized the Syrian military, created fissures within the regime of president Bashar al-Assad, and force Damascus to accept greater foreign assistance in propping an ailing government, according to an April 30th New York Times report.

Turns out the Russians were not such a good ally for Syria.

I don't see who he can fall back on that could help keep him in power.....other than Russia or China. Russia has an interest and Putin should actually be thinking of more what can be taken there, and what he would lose.

Seems the Russians have Assad taking care of Tartous by looks of the map.

But it looks like he could lose a good majority of his Army.





The regime's eastern holdings are in danger of being totally cut off, a development that would give the rebels a foothold near the heart of Assad's remaining territory:

The Syrian multi-polar civil war is a fustercluck on a national scale...and I for one am doggone glad that Obama didn't let us get involved in it. Getting involved in somebody else's civil war is a lot like stepping in between a fight between a married couple - sometimes you're able to help...but a lot of times you get burned and they both hate you as a result. Ya gotta choose wisely when to get involved, and when to stay out of it. Obama chose wisely.
