I know you're right, SB, and I don't mean to judge. I've never been put in a position where I've had to defend my life or have seen things done to my fellow soldiers and buddies. I imagine that'll mess with your head enough to where you actually start believing they are something less than human.

I honestly think keeping body parts is weird period. I won't even have a rabbit's foot. I did when I was a kid, then later I'm like gross - a severed paw on a keychain.

"At least they should preserve it with alcohol or something...it seems disturbing to keep any body part, but keeping a rotten one sounds even weirder."

Glad you were interested by Dunning-Kruger. I recently wrote a paper on the correlation between ignorance and happiness and used it as a main discussion point. Sociology/Psychology is truly a fascinating and frightening field.
