Thank you!
Congrats on your new found modship!
Well I'm not going to make up rules for a debate that doesn't exists.
I'm just doing what Mega asks of me.
But there won't be any democratic debates
Mega doesn't want it to be about just one party.
It amazes me that the NHL went to such great lengths to save Phoenix, and then turned their backs on us. I was certain that the NHL would save us, since we are a better market, and aren't in bankruptcy. It just angers me, and I may not be able to follow the NHL after this, atleast with that slimeball Bettman as commish. I will always love hockey, but the NHL, I don't know. I'm still in shock, I never thought it would actually happen. It will sink in more by the time the draft comes, by the time free agency comes, and by the time October comes. Not being able to go to the games is just an awful thought. The thing that makes it the worst is that the team was finally starting to get good, we finally had a good GM, a good coach, and a great young core, and players that wanted to play here. Suffering through all those years of watching the Thrashers lose, and not being able to reap the rewards of seeing them finally being successful makes me want to cry
I know what you mean about the love of a sport and team. While I have only recently become interested in hockey, probably three years ago, since that time I have faithfully followed the Bruins. Although, while I do love hockey, football is my main sport and so I somewhat get that void you are talking about. I do not know what I would do without football for a year, I cannot imagine life without it forever, or until a new team arrives. Stuff like this is truly something all true sports fan fell, regardless of what sport we follow, because none of us want to find a time where our team is taken away. Although, I think in Atlanta's case it hurts even more because of what the NHL did for Phoenix.
You have no idea how devastating this is. I'm still hoping we somehow stay, but it's looking more, and more inevitable. This is my team, this is my sport, yeah I sort of like the Falcons, and the Braves, but I couldn't tell you the bullpen of the Braves, or players other then the big names on the Falcons. But I could tell you damn near everything about the Thrashers, I could name most of the Chicago Wolves lineup(AHL affiliate), who was on the team, how long they've been on the team, how we got them, etc. There is nothing like live NHL hockey, and not having that will be awful. There will be a void in my life for a long time, and it's just damn depressing.
I am sorry about the Thrashers. I do not know what I would do if one of my Boston teams left me. Maybe their moving is the beginning to the end of the world.
