Thanx NoC_T, and a late Merry Xmas to you too_
And I hope you got everything on your Sante list_
Thanx And I know exactly what you mean.
It's because I can stay objective, at least for the most part.
Thank you for the "like". This was one of my 'rant like' posts that I am prone to make now and again. ;-)
Well you certainly don't want to make any of those things public unless you're prepared for a full out assault by the Leftistas_
Believe me, I know__It's a good thing I have a thick skin__LOL!
Great bio. We have a few things in common.
I was a precocious child__I didn't get all giddy and blushy at the mention of sex.
Small government libertarianism and big government socialism is a bit oxy-moronish, don't ya think?
Socialism is a failed system that stifles creativity, stalls invention and retards progress and is detrimental to human destiny which is to reach for the stars.
It is not the nature of the unique human species to be reduced to the mundane existence of a beehive or an anthill.
LOL. Don't worry, not all liberals are militant. I've met intelligent conservatives and unintelligent liberals on this board.
LOL, isn't 10 a little young for 1984? It's a little risque. Animal Farm is pretty good (I'm sure you read that too) and I hope to read his essays.
Yup. I believe that libertarian socialism can work: all socialism is really is control by the workers versus by CEOs and the like. I don't agree with it but I'd prefer socialism to Communism or a conservative state. Pretty sure Orwell had similar beliefs.
Hi Madlib__This is much better than insulting each other although you should've PM'd me cuz the other libs will likely accuse you of consorting with a known racist/homophobe__Hey, you're not setting me up for "Smack" are ya?!__Ha-Ha!__Just kidding, although it has happened.
I did read 1984 and it spooked me, although I was only 10 years old at the time__Orwell introduced me to totalitarianism and how it's imposed on the masses through unwitting supporters who are promised social justice, equality and cradle to grave security by a benevolent all powerful government whose only desire is to serve the people.
I've heard that George Orwell was a professed socialist who struggled with the knowledge that because of socialism's need for a large centralized government in order to be effective, it invariably progressed to totalitarianism__I have seen too many similarities between the Progressive Movement's and Big Brother's thought/speech manipulation.
Take care Madlib__bye-bye!
