Wax clay is great for traditional sculpting. It's pliable when heated, and becomes firm and carve-able (like wax) when at room temperature. It holds fine detail very well, and you can bump into it without destroying your sculpture.
(Note: Not my sculpture~!)
I've been experimenting with wax clay recipes (mostly by mixing Form-It with microcrystalline wax), but haven't been able replicate the quality of Monster Maker's or Castilene. Which begs the question of why I should even bother, since neither are outrageously expensive... but anyways, I like experimenting and making a mess.
Does anyone have a good wax clay recipe?
