We went through this crap from 1966 to about 1970 because the Blacks had the same mindset as they do now and because of the Viet Nam War.

Detroit, Chicago, Philly, NY., LA, SF, Oakland, Boston and a few other cities. Then they died out....the cold winter helped. Now they are back, same type of people, same complaints, different actors....more firepower....more feelings of entitlement.

This is just a new installment of the same playbook and Democrats have been promising hope and change for over 40 years now......and delivering lip service only. You would think the Blacks and Hispanics would get smart after a while and see the ruse, perpetrated by the Lefties.

But obama, hillary et al, are still using the same playbook. It is just....:screwy

Tell me what to think? Why would I do that?

I the OP you posted some info but did not include any of your thoughts. Thought you might be waiting for others to post their thoughts.

Correct. I was waiting for comments. I do this often, but their comments have no bearing on what I think.

As I posted in #5, I made up my mind back then and know what I have been thinking, since the mid 60s. Longer then some on this forum have been alive. ;)

Obviously, you are wrong. Question: Who brainwashed you... and how long ago was it done?

I am not a Trump supporter and therefor not brainwashed.

Detroit Police Chief James Craig addressed a personal threat to his life on Friday afternoon.

Craig spoke to reporters in response a graffiti message found in the area of W. State Fair Ave. and John R. St. reading “Kill All Police, Kill James Craig.”

This is the natural result of a police force with enormous power and no oversight. Awareness of police misconduct is at an all-time high and people are angry. This kind of thing is inevitable.

Out of the thousands of good cops in this nation, the abuse by police, is minor.

Note that I'm not saying misconduct is at an all-time high, just awareness of it.

I do think it's a problem, not necessarily because it's so prevalent, but because it's still not being dealt with the way it should be.

And many of these incidents are totally misdirected by the population. Many so called eye witnesses lie their asses off and the police are right in what they have done. The Ferguson incident is a case in point. There are many others. The friends, neighbors, family.... will lie and lie and lie, about the actions of the deceased.

In most of these cases, the person is shot because he/she did not obey the lawful commands of the police....or they are criminals and are carrying guns or drugs in violation of their sanctions.

That attitude is a big part of the problem. Unless a person is a blatant threat, disobeying the orders of a police officer should not merit summary execution. But in some cases that's what happens.

I think it is different this time. Expectations have changed - Discrimination is less acceptable so when it happens it upsets people more and gets a stronger reaction. Police powers have increased which makes profiling more invasive. Shoot to kill is more common and shooting first in general.

Increased police powers (and stupid laws - in particular the drug war) puts police in confrontations with citizens more often. This happens to all citizens but more to minorities.

Some of the inner cities are also worse. More crime, more violence, less opportunity, more poverty.

My prediction is that things are going to get worse as the distribution of wealth continues out of the middle class.

In some very rare cases. Nothing I said, was about execution for not obeying commands. Furthermore, none of these police actions, has risen to the level of an execution. Not obeying commands is the initial problem, than it escalates.

I kind of agree on this part......but, once again, wealth is often earned and people who have it, should not be forced to redistribute it, unless they agree to it.

The problem is that they did not "earn it". At least not in a legal way. (And even if they had there are still arguments against one person owning all resources and means of production but, I want to focus on my first point).

There is no "Free and Fair markets". Jim Rogers (recognized as on of the main investment guru's) said about a decade ago that China is more free and fair.

Price fixing, anti competitive practices, Oligopolies (when folks are talking about Russia they call them Oligarchs), collusion other illegal practices are accepted.

Extreme Socialism (communism) and extreme Capitalism meet at the far end of the spectrum. In both cases you have a few people owning all resources and means of production.

Somehow we have managed to combine the worst of both systems into what I call the Oligopoly-Bureaucracy Fusion Monster. Oligopolies are helped by Gov't regulation to keep competition away. Tax law is used to keep the worker in a state of indentured servitude.

Every time some tax law or regulation is made the Oligopoly is sitting at the table (and they have a right to be there). The problem is that the person representing the worker is in the pocket of, or under the influence of the Oligopoly.

The Oligopoly does not win every table but, over time, table after table, the rules of the game get skewed towards the Oligopoly.

These massive mergers should never be allowed. Take Dow-Dupont (not sure if this one has gone through yet). I worked in the chemical industry for decades in sales. In the sector in which I worked there used to be 10 or more companies competing for the services of a good sales rep. This labor competition kept wages and compensation high. If you sold something (made the company more money) you got paid your end. Now there are 2 companies. Both are large oligopolies who try to screw the sales person out of every penny. Their finance departments even take courses on how to do this (I am not joking).

If you do not like it ... too bad. You only have one other place to go and they do the same thing. Decreased labor competition decreases wages and compensation. If I make the company more money ... too bad .. you get a pittance.

OK ... so what is the overall effect ? I that money is going into my pocket I spend it in the local economy. Instead it goes to some nameless faceless shareholder that may not even live in the country never mind spend it in the local economy. This shareholder did not "earn" anything but, I am not against the stock market.

So what happens is that a little bit of cream is skimmed off of the milk. Multiply this by thousands of times and you are left with skim milk ... (and we are well past that point).

You do buy gas from Exxon and the guy selling you the gas does not get one penny from the gas. He gets the chips and the gum. Again if some of that money is going into his pocket he will spend in the local economy. Instead it goes to some shareholder.

You buy a loaf of bread for 3 dollars and 3 cents is going to the farmer. The rest ? Most goes into the pocket of some shareholder.

Roads, Infrastructure, Police, Military and so on. All cost money. (all are a function of socialism... collection and redistribution of wealth). This is not a black and white issue and anyone who paints it as such really does not understand what they are talking about.

That said .. we are supposed to have "Limited Gov't" and Limited Socialism/taxation and "we the people" are supposed to have control - and we don't.

It used to be that the worker/Corp tax split was 50/50. (back in the 1950's). If I must pay taxes for roads and stuff OK but McDonalds better be paying it's share as well. Try running a McDonalds with no roads or no police.

Today that split is 80/20... I am not friggen happy about 1) paying McDonalds share of the tax bill and 2) that we pay the taxes that we do to support Big Gov't that we have no control over.
