The point is clear. obama is a race baiter, bigot, soft on crime and a piss poor president. He says yes to criminals from Mexico and Syria, and no to gun owners who just want to protect themselves....especially those ranchers on the Southern border.
Instead of bolstering US security, he is loosening it.
BLM is a bunch of Commies, obama promotes them, hillary promotes them, Demos in general...promote them. The more promoting, the softer on crime, the more mass shootings.

Yes I have. I was raised around guns - sorta required growing up out in the boonies - and got my firearms quals and ribbons over my 20-year career in the Navy. I'm not afraid of guns.

The key to keeping guns out of the hands of those who shouldn't have them is REGISTRATION - making those who legally own firearms (including dealers) responsible for keeping track of them...or reporting them when stolen. This would put a big hurt on gun smugglers who, thanks to our current wild-west system, can buy all they want and sell them on the black market with nobody knowing who they're selling those firearms to.

This is a big part of the reason, btw, why AMERICAN gun smugglers are able to smuggle nearly a freaking quarter million firearms into Mexico each and every year. And the firearms manufacturers are wildly against gun control, NOT because of "Second Amendment freedom", but because the guns purchased by smugglers are a big freaking part of their annual revenue.

That is as about as ignorant a statement as there ever was. With about a half billion guns in private hands in the US, most of those owned by good, decent citizens, you naively think that you are going to curtail mass shootings and gang violence and everything will be peachy keen?
That concept is about as Tinker Bell-ish as it gets. I had a neighbor years ago with similar views and I asked him if he subscribed to the Peter Pan Digest?

btw....OJ was a gang member in SF, he was very good with a knife....so many gang bangers and latinos are very good with knives. Killers will kill with knives, clubs, bombs, arson, vehicles and bare hands.....just the way they killed 1000 years ago...
The focus should be on the behavior....not the weapon. Hell, look at Iran....we paid them off (bribed them)to stop their Nuke Program.....for now. Maybe you could start a payoff(bribe) program for gangbangers...

Registration leads to confiscation by a future corrupt, tyrannical govt. A vote for Hillary will take us in that direction.

How will you go about registering a half a billion firearms?

Far more guns are smuggled into the USA from Mexico, than go out. They come from Russia, South America, Central America, China, Cuba, etc.

I personally know of 8 guns brought into the US from Europe and Viet Nam...totally unknown to the government. If I know of that many, how many other people know of many more. My guess is that there are thousands of guns in the US, totally unknown to the govt.

Your views are very naive in scope.

Sorry, there is no benefit to gun registration that outweighs the harm that can be done by registration.

Who do you suppose manufactures the quarter-freaking-MILLION firearms that are smuggled to Mexico each year, hm? Are you really going to claim that the gun manufacturers don't have a fiduciary interest in seeing hundreds of thousands of their guns being sold - illegally or not - outside our borders?

Right now, any person who can purchase firearms LEGALLY can privately sell those firearms to absolutely anyone without any background check at all - the buyer could be a violent felon, a sex predator, a sociopath, or a terrorist...and when the killing is done, there's often no way to track back to find out who it was that sold the firearm to the criminal.

Registration, on the other hand, allows law enforcement to look back at who it was who sold the weapon...thereby putting a big hurt on gun smugglers who buy their guns legally and sell them to the highest bidder. Again, nearly a freaking quarter million of our firearms go to Mexico each year - do you really think that this flood of smuggled firearms doesn't contribute in a big way to the unrest south of the border? Do you really think that it doesn't enable the drug lords to operate with impunity, sending drugs to our own kids?

Registration does NOT significantly hinder law-abiding American citizens from owning and keeping firearms. All it really does is enable law enforcement to put the hurt on gun smugglers. All the registration-leads-to-Hitler crap you hear is nothing but fear-mongering...paid for in significant measure by the gun manufacturers who have a strong financial interest in said fear-mongering. Think about it - what happens if lots of criminals get firearms? Lots of law-abiding citizens also want firearms. And who wins? The firearm manufacturers.

Would it have an immediate effect? Would it magically make everything better right away? Of course not. But it WOULD gradually cut down on the numbers of illegal guns out there...but 'gradually', when applied year after year after year, makes a real difference...and then someday, we might find out that it's safe to walk down the street again, just like it already is in every other first-world nation on the planet.

NOBODY of real consequence is talking about confiscation, guy. Willya please stop buying into the gun-manufacturer-run NRA's fear-mongering? Yeah, there are a few on the far, far left who talk confiscation - but these are the wingnuts. The overwhelming majority of Democrats and liberals, if you'll check, DO support the right to keep and bear arms. What WE want is sensible gun control - to make it as difficult as possible for criminals and idiots and crazies to get firearms.

In fact, if you'll check, MOST people - including most Republicans - DO support increased gun control laws. The problem is that the minority that screams bloody-murder fear-mongering 2A freeeeeeeeedom is so vocal (and so well-funded by the gun manufacturers) that your own politicians don't dare even whisper anything about gun control, even though most of their Republican constituents support that gun control!

Try doing something completely different and Google around polling sites - the better ones, like Gallup and so forth - and see for yourself that no, MOST of us lefties aren't out here to destroy the 2A. Maybe then you can get a clue that your side's been taken for a ride by the gun manufacturers.
