There's not a small number of issues wrong here. But let's just start with the fact that she doesn't acknowledge
why there's more crime in black communities (or impoverished communities as a whole). So, naturally, we're not going to mention the role that racism has played in keeping these communities downtrodden and constantly turning to crime. That would undercut the point she's trying to make, which is that we should just have more police officers in their neighborhoods, put more blacks to jail, and when the time comes to address why there's so much crime, just tell them they need to pull themselves up by their bootstraps.
Also, she doesn't even discuss what actually goes on in, what she calls, "proactive policing." She doesn't describe how this leads to a huge number of false convictions for blacks, or that this is related to the very police brutality that she's now denying exists. Similarly, she says there's no evidence that police shoot blacks (and there's plenty of
reasons to dispute that), but
there is evidence that police officers use force a lot more often on African-Americans. They are incarcerated more frequently (for instance they are 8 times more likely per capita to be put away for marijuana possession, despite using marijuana at the same per capita rate as whites), and
1 in 15 African-Americans males will be sent to prison, as opposed to 1 in 106 for Caucasian males. According to the DOJ, 1 in every 3 black males can expect to go to prison at some point in their lives (and then be subjected to being a convict looking for a job). There are more now African-Americans in the US prison system than there were African slaves in America.
She also disregards the fact that Black Lives Matters doesn't deny the fact that there are more black criminals, per capita, than white criminals. Instead, they ask the question she refuses to: "Why is that?" The answer is systemic and economic racism, the lingering effects of slavery, and many other issues. BLM, agree with them or not, is at least attempting to work towards a solution to these problems, and that's a major front of their organization.
So no, color me not impressed with someone who spent a long time finding the "Right" statistics to make her case against the "blacks."
