Murder Rates Soar In 25 Largest Cities...

Why would I care about what our allies do?

Their intelligence and capabilities are not as good as ours.

Why would I trust another country that requires foreign aid and then pretends to be our friend?

That about sums the thing up. The fact that an immigrant spy was in the German Chancellery for a number of year was certainly not good for the US and was something to very much care about. As for the last sentence, it seems a non-sequitur.

Never said that I was, but you keep railing about the perfection of your precious YouTube videos.

It is a logical conclusion.

On this thread? You should stay on topic.

When they are the basis for all of your observations, it is appropriate to question them.

Feel free to ignore reality.

Many do.

Did I post a you tube on this thread? Stay on topic, youtube and I are not the topic.

Many do.

The reality of spies? The reality of terrorists among the refugees? The reality of the German Chancellery having (had) information that would best not have gone to Moscow?

You ignore that crime is a cultural /economic issue and not a political one.

Some cultures glorify crime, and those are the cultures that seem to have the greatest
problems with it. In Mexico, and now in the United States, people erect shrines to Jesus Malverde, the "narco saint", who trafficked narcotics and is seen as a hero by many Mexicans.

Rap music has glorified crime for 20+ years. One of the biggest rappers to come out of Chicago recently, killed his rival, who was only 17 at the time. The guy is a hero in the black community in Chicago.

If someone really wants to examine crime and ways to lessen it, one needs to look at economic and social issues, not pointing at political opponents and blaming them.

We've looked into socioeconomic conditions in high crime areas for 50 years now, trying to find ways to ease the violence and create prosperity in the inner city. I don't think it's worked.

Welcome to the world.

Can't control everything.

Unsubstantiated speculation does cause correlation.

It's not "unsubstantiated speculation:, it's "substantiated speculation". Correlation can point to theories (which you could call "speculations"), which then need to be proven. Correlation doesn't provide proof, but neither does it negate the theory altogether and trying to use correlation as proof does not mean that the theory is wrong, just that it isn't proven. So you don't get to toss the whole idea out just because it's based on correlation. What you should be doing is joining in asking whether the theory is correct or not instead of trying to dismiss it out of hand.

Right. Its the new red dye#5 in the Cheetos dust that is causing the nationwide increases in homicide rates in major cities. That happen to be democrat controlled. And happen to have large minority populations. And happen to have massive problems with poverty. And happen to experience unemployment rates higher than all other groups...in some categories more than double the national average.

That stuff is just a coincidence.

Correlation should be driving us to ask questions, it is not an answer.

Your questions should be directly related to correlation, not "how can we blame the GOP, white people, Christians, banks, and gun owners?"

Lighten up - it was sarcasm.

'Embedded terrotists'.

Just like the hidden Russian spies of the Cold War era - there were none!

Bwaahaahaahaa!

you are claiming that the USSR did not have spies operating in the USA during the Cold War?

The people in San Bernardino have a basis in reality. That women came from Saudi Arabia a pre packaged radical. Try facts, they won't hurt you.

I understand that you believe the sky is falling. Reality shows that it isn't. For every Muslim who creates a problem, there are dozens who don't. Try facts. They don't bite.

Sure, we've looked at it. And done NOTHING productive with it. That's why it hasn't worked.

Reality shows the problem gets bigger everyday. The same way the denial gets louder everyday.

Reality shows nothing of the sort. Those who fear that the sky is falling keep shouting even though they make no sense.

Tell the families of the dead, not me. You can start with the families of the ones that will die today, and there will be some.

You do realize that this comment makes no sense in regards to what is being discussed. No one is saying that people aren't victims of terrorism. What seems to confound you is that it's not happening all around us. Your intense fear reminds me of the people who locked themselves in bunkers during the cold war. Over reactive fear causes people to make dumb decisions and have silly positions on things.

Awareness is not fear. When you learn to distinguish the difference is when this conversation can continue.

Your posts show that you do not know the difference between awareness and fear. When you can, let me know.

That is what I just said to you. Why would you repeat it?

I totally accept that there is correlation between the two, but I feel like the poverty angle is overplayed. Some poor communities don't have the same crimes rates as others, or if they do the types of crimes might be different. Some communities might have more property crime, theft and burglary, etc., where people steal to sell for money/food or just to keep.

After poverty, the major driving factor is population density. Urban and rural poverty result in different crimes and rates.

Whereas other communities have more murders and assaults that really serve no legitimate purpose whatsoever for personal survival.

That's just flat-out wrong. Gang activity is generally a matter of personal survival (among peers) and the only available means of attaining wealth and respect. While the crime itself might not make this clear, a bit of sociological study does.

The only culture in question is poverty culture. It's important that we do not label any one group according to poverty culture. Things like race do not drive poverty culture, socioeconomics drives poverty culture.
