The FBI has responded to recent concerns about U.S. voting systems being targeted for cyberattacks as Election Day approaches, saying the agency takes the threat "very, very seriously" and is working to "equip the rest of our government with options."

FBI Director James Comey addressed the issue while speaking to government and private-industry experts attending the Symantec Government Symposium in Washington, D.C.

"We take very seriously any effort by any actor," he said, "to influence the conduct of affairs in our country, whether that's an election or something else."

Of course it's serious. The manufacturers made sure they could bend the result in the GOP's favour so long as they can get close.

HOMELAND SECURITY TO TAKE CHARGE OF ELECTIONS

Even before the FBI identified new cyber attacks on two separate state election boards, the Department of Homeland Security began considering declaring the election a "critical infrastructure," giving it the same control over security it has over Wall Street and and the electric power grid.

Starting to look like a Third World Country to me...what a great way to rig the election.

Another flaw that we have known about for years but never did anything about.

We will likely have to suffer broad voting machine fraud before we wise up.

Cause that be how we roll now.

We used to be better.

Diebold?

And this is why electronic voting is stupid.

And this is why electronic voting is stupid.

Anything to save a buck. This is like how we have many millions of airbags that dont work, which has killed a few dozen so far, because Takata decided to save literally a couple of bucks per car by making cheaper parts when it should not have, and when it for damn sure should have had enough subject matter expertise to understand that they should not do this. And government should not have let them. And Automakers should not have let them. And safety NGO's should have been yelling at the top of their lungs.

Really stupid yes, but also proof positive on how much trouble we are in, of how badly systems tend to work now.

Well it's the Russians fault, isn't it?

With today's 2 party choices, Hitlery or Drumpf, why should one even vote at all? It's like voting to have brain cancer or colon cancer, which is preferable?

10 years ago HBO ran a special on how easy those machines are to hack, and TPTB have done precious little. What's new?

And this is why electronic voting is stupid.

Ummm... The two States that were hacked both use paper ballots. What does the OP have to do with electronic voting?

Maybe they can hack us an actual candidate instead of the two clueless boobs we have now.
