How do we "Fix" the LEO crisis?

An excellent post Officer Goshin, and proof that men in uniform who act in a respectable manner WILL be respected.

When I was a boy, I (and everyone else) knew who policed our neighborhood.

Our family didn't have much money then, so we often times would live in someone's basement or extra room, usually on the wrong side of the tracks.

Our Policeman walked the beat. Come hail, wind, rain, or snow he would be on the sidewalk with his eyes on the community. He had a whistle, baton, and a revolver. He said hello to others that were going about their business in the city. We would see him everyday. He didn't wear dark glasses. He was approachable and you could ask him anything. He was highly respected as the enforcer of the laws.

Where did he go?

1. End the drug war- this is the one factor thats led to the militarization of cops as well as the incarceration and disenfranchisement of a lot of black people.

2. Get rid of sovereign immunity for all government employees. If a cop abuses their power then they ought to be made financially liable, the taxpayers shouldnt pay for settlements.
