I bet I would be a better cop than you. So there!
You could make 5 minutes !

Nope. If he had complied with that rule he would be alive.
He didn't "immediately turn the gun over to police". He dropped the gun, then ran back towards it, instead of dropping immediately to the ground.
The simple fact is that an adult should know not to be swinging a gun (even an air rifle) back and forth in a store with no regard to how others might react to that, with no thought to it, and then be surprised that police show up when you do so. Situational awareness.
But again, if he had followed the simple rule of staying away from toy guns while black he never would have been in the situation to begin with.
That was a reply to a post about the Dallas shooting sorry if I wasn't clear.
Hehe. That's cute. Problem solved... if only.Step 1-Stop Raping, robbing, and killing people.
Step 2-Stop pulling guns on people. Yes...even toy guns.
Step 3-If you are arrested for Robbing, raping, killing, pulling guns on people, stealing, etc, dont run from the cops. Dont fight with the cops. Definitely dont try to pull a gun on the cops. Cooperate with law enforcement. Treat them with respect. Listen to what is being said. Dont argue. Dont fight. You know you were speeding...sign the ****ing ticket and if you want to fight it, go to court. You know your license is suspended and your plates are expired. Dont complain about quotas or profiling or other bull**** arguments.
Step 4-In the event that a cop shoots someone unjustly, investigate, where charges are warranted, file charges, and if the case supports it, find accordingly.
Step 5-In the event you disagree with the charges, go to court and fight the charges.
I think thats it. Problem solved.

These 5 steps would most certainly go a long way, probably even a most of the way, but "solved"? Phfft! Hardly.
Step 6 - For cops... Don't be a dick.
NOW, we would have almost total elimination.
More right-wingers demonizing the victims of police violence.
Those cops who executed Crawford belong in prison. Shame on our system. And shame on the people who extend full empathy and understanding to officers who prematurely pull the trigger but reserve no empathy for American citizens being publicly executed for petty offenses -- or no offenses at a all.
Why must you be dishonest? No one is blaming innocent victims nor is it excusing bad acting cops.

I disagree. We've had this discussion before -- you continue to blame Tamir. Those heartless bastards shot him and refused to tend to him, but it's the boy's fault. It's the boy's families fault.
The Crawford shooting is even worse -- the guy had no chance to even react -- just shot dead for nothing. He did nothing wrong. He did nothing to bring about that shooting.
Somehow, the state-of-mind of police who pull the trigger is paramount, and their fear is to be understood and respected, but the fear of the people being executed publicly by the state is unreasonable and they deserve no justice because they failed to follow an ill-defined set of specific procedures that emphasizes complete, immediate, and unquestioned submission to authority.
Tamir Rice was not an innocent victim. You would have to be the most blind biased cop hating bigot to know the fact and claim he was executed or that he was an innocent victim.

He was the very definition of an innocent victim. He was a 12-year-old kid playing in the park. You have to be some kind of monster not to see that.
I don't know about all of these - but I've always found that if I'm being told by an officer to halt, then I stop immediately. I certainly don't try and pull his weapon from him in an effort to shoot him. Well, at least that's what I think I would not do.
If you don't want to pay a speeding ticket then do what I've always done, try to fake cry a bit - seems to work with the less crouchy type. especially the men. I've also just told them straight up, yep I was in a hurry and still am so can I get an expedite on that ticket. That one didn't work so well for me - live and learn.
Horse****. His own grandmother admitted he had the gun and used it to threaten others. You have a twisted ****ing world vision of 'innocent victim'. It's of course spurred by your hatred and bigotry of cops.

I fully admit being bigoted against trigger-happy cops who gun down innocent children in the park. You're racist presumptions about this child's character still can't justify his public assassination.
Good point. Black men should just change themselves into white women when they get pulled over and cry a little.
Or, they could do what my husband tells me to do, sit up straight, make no sudden movements, and actually have a little respect for the cops. It isn't that hard to not get killed. Millions, upon millions of people every year do it without getting killed. The vast majority of those who do get killed either a) directly threatened a police officer or someone else, or b) where doing something stupid that especially in this day and age they should have known better than to do.
If you have an issue with how an officer is treating you, or you think you are being targeted due to your race or some other factor, fight it in court, not on the street.
Your husband gave you advice on how to deal with cops? You mean it's not only black parents that have "the talk" with their family members? Huh? Imagine that!

We had to have 'the talk' with airmen that would drive off the installation for breakfast when they were working the graveyard shift. Cops routinely pulled us over from 1-5 am. Why? Just to see if we had been drinking and driving. We all understood the gig. Cops 'profile' all drivers on the road after 1 am.
