Couple taken hostage kill murder suspect, jail escapee in Mississippi

Rafael Arnez McCloud allegedly had killed once before. More than eight months later -- and days after escaping a Mississippi jail -- he appeared poised to kill again. Wielding a bloody knife, he held a man, a woman and their 5-year-old son hostage in a bathroom of their Vicksburg home.

But this time, he was the one who ended up dead.

Early Thursday, the 24-year-old wife and mother, who'd been allowed to leave the bathroom, returned with a handgun and fired one shot at McCloud, police said. She then freed her husband, who "took control of the weapon and fired additional shots, striking McCloud."

sounds like the mope got off easy! but some of our Bannite advocates will find horror that the poor misunderstood persecuted prisoner was killed for doing what an unjust and racist society forced him to do

Amazing how liberal, anti-gun hearts, bleed for scum like that, and have little compassion for the home owner who does the right thing.

The tolerance that they preach, has a plethora of limitations.

Exactly. How many numbskulls have posted here and on other forums about how this rarely happens. And I've told them that it happens several times per month all over the US, often not reported to the MSM or ignored by the MSM. With social media being what it is now, the bastards can no longer ignore it.

A person's first line of defense....is themselves.

Calling 9-1-1 won't save your ass. Assaults take seconds, cops take minutes, sometime dozens of minutes, to respond.

In most cases of assaults, a cop won't save your ass.

Most neighbors or co-workers won't want to save your ass, because they don't want to get involved or are scared ****less.

It's on you ...Baby! So Fight or Flight, are your options.

How about the 10,000+ firearm homicides and 20,000+ suicide/accidental deaths per year from firearms?

Is that why those strangely obsessed with owning weapons that allow them to kill from a distance always seem to be starting threads based on lone single incidents in which a gun is used properly against another human being?

The overall statistics are what's relevant, if we want to go "yay guns" or "boo guns". A single success story doesn't say anything more than a single failure story...

Please. There are tons of news stories about citizens rightly defending self/others with CCW, and even the CDC admits self-defense by firearm is probably more common than crime by firearm.
 
Irresponsible. She should have taken him prisoner but instead she shoots him and then, when he is down, the husband executes him? The husband is the very reason that guns should be banned. He starts shooting with his 5 year-old kid in the small room to boot, ridiculous.

patent idiocy. Take him prisoner so he can again escape and try to kill others? She should have kept shooting him until he was no longer a threat-ever. Good for the husband though. He did us a public service. He should be given a hero's welcome

Look, Canada, Norway, Australia, New Zealand, etc. have gun laws that work. There are also FAR FEWER gun crimes and deaths as a result.
