Good cop–bad cop routine produces false positives

Old news really, but oh so true.

IMO the case of the Central Park Five is the most dramatic example of this phenomenon. On the individual level, Brendan Dassey is another excellent example, and caught on video too.
 
I'm really starting to get to get to the point where having an attorney present shouldn't be optional.
 
This routing should never be the only method by which one gets to the truth finding the guilty party. But lets face it, asking nicely won't work either.
