Does Minnesota need to license music therapy?
Minnesota Could Create License for Music Therapy

http://ij.org/minnesota-create-license-music-therapy/
This is my favorite...
Quote from article:
...it’s telling that Music Therapy Association of Minnesota, which backs creating the new license, “would like to keep the music therapy licensure topic out of the media as much as possible to avoid turning it into a potential political battle which would make progress more difficult.”
In other words, the industry association knows it's questionable, so they want to keep it in the dark as much as possible. Nice.

What the hell is music therapy? Just listen to some Baroque style classical and calm the hell down? Or what?

Of course, because we need even more government to regulate and "license" our activities with one another.

That's kind of how I think of it. But, apparently, it's serious business.

Which I think is why they don't want anyone talking about it, because I would imagine that most folks that hear about this would laugh.

Music is a legitimate form of therapy. I think we as humans know that...that is why we HAVE music. So why try and stop it?

Apparently....an unlicensed music therapist, AKA, a "quack" might subscribe you some megadeath instead of bethoven, causing untold psychological problems.

i buy albums or songs off Amazon for like $1 a piece - nature sounds, birds, ocean waves, Tibetan Bowls, Schumanns resonance etc. most of them are around 60 minutes of music for $1 and a few are even free. works pretty good for relaxing or going to sleep

For whatever reason, I dig Tibetan Bowls. I can't explain it. But only on a rocken good sound system, not crappy speakers.

I suppose if they can "license" hair-braiding, they can license anything, eh? ;)

No, I would oppose such a scheme.

"Does Minnesota need to license music therapy?"

They do if they expect to get some revenue from it.
