Family Annihilator Teen likely to be Released in 3 Years

Laws for minors are different: they're children...

So what? Many adults that kill or do horrible things have the emotional maturity of children...

Are you suggesting people with schizophrenia or PTSD should all be locked up for life?

no, absolutely not ... I have a few friends who are on some heavy meds to keep them level, they have not however committed multiple murders

and this is not a case of "schizophrenia or PTSD" it is a combo...he was schizophrenic and now has PTSD from murdering his family

the point is. he has already demonstrated what he is capable of, so once you have murdered, you lose the easy release door, and yes maybe/quite probably forever so don't make this into something it is not...

here in Canada they released a person under similar circumstances a few years ago ...he was travelling on a Grey Hound bus and proceeded to decapitate a fellow rider...I lean pretty far left and have a very good understanding of psychology...you don't come back from somethings, period

The ones that purposefully kill their entire family at age 15....

Yes. Yes we should.

yes they are still children...and it ought to be a long, long, long time until they are free if ever because the damage has to be immense for a child to kill

Three years seems to be the max if this "child" is tried as a juvenile.

I agree with the second part of your statement.

wow three years, holy smokey...that is highly disturbing and probably the same for where I live...it's like releasing a psychopath on an unknown innocent and watching it unfold

horrifying for society and the kid

I think is cases like this the professionals like to convince themselves, if not anyone else, that their interventions have done some good. That they had had a success and transformed a mass murderer into a nice guy and a great prospective neighbour. Seeking to justify one's professional existence by exaggerating results is not limited to psychiatrists.

It was 5 words....

Yours was 9, so you are more likely the 10 or less poster.

I know, Bod...terrible huh? The guy is almost as good as the former member "Scatt" for doing 10 words or less posts.

yes I do...my grasp of psychology is good enough to know you are behaving like a dick

you have a great evening, when you have something reasonable to contribute let me know

until then, stew in your own juice

lol, sounds like you're the one stewing.

all you did was make an assertion and when pressed you backed it up with.....nothing

I'll excuse your assessment since you neither know me nor have any desire to discuss the topic

I'm done with you now....you have the last word

you said:

I know this for a number of reasons:
  • because child murder stats are low
  • I have a good understanding of the human psyche
  • I have worked around children
the list could go on but a rational analysis of murder and motive in general would conclude no less

"because child murder stats are low" - could be due to any number of reasons
"i have a good understanding of the human psyche" - are you a psychologist, psychiatrist, family therapist?
"i have worked around children" - so has many
