Thug cop sues victim. The

The kid may have suffered from a mental illness...
He have, but the officer was not informed that he was, and there's no duty for a cop to become trained as a psychologist to diagnose such things in the field.
they don't respond so logically in stressful situations.
True. Nor does your average criminal.
Perfect scenario for a cop to go full auto and blast people...
Please provide a link to support your assertion that the cop went "... full auto and blast people..." I don't remember reading that.

and then BLAME THE VICTIM!
Victim of what? His own actions that led to him getting shot? That's not a victim. That was a dangerous criminal, that was shot by an officer that he was attacking with a bat. Victim? Seriously?

A dangerous criminal? What had he done to warrant that title? I can accept potentially dangerous but until he actually attacks the cop non-lethal force should be tried...

Some lessons to be learned here.
1. In the US anyone can sue anyone for almost anything.
2. You should think long and hard before involving any government group in anything. When you do, such as calling the police, you are relinquishing control to someone else.
3. Best to handle problems yourself in many cases and don't count on government.
4. Public employees tend to have a sense of entitlement, probably more than the average citizen.
5. When you tell citizens to not take the law into their own hands, this may be the result.

A dangerous criminal?
Yes.
What had he done to warrant that title?
Attacked his father with a deadly weapon, and then attacked the officer with the same weapon. That is a crime, and is dangerous - dangerous criminal.

He had already attacked his father. The 911 operator told the officer the man had a bat and was attacking people. When he arrived on scene, the man attacked him with the bat. Second guessing an officer and demanding that he allow himself to be harmed so that he doesn't harm an attacker is just ridiculous and an unfounded expectation. Police officers do not have a duty to allow the public to harm them or to even attempt to harm them - they have every right to defend themselves, and this officer did just that.

I read through the transcripts of the 911 call and don't remember the word "attack" at all and I don't believe cops most of the time. They lie when force is used most of the time.

Post the transcript, then.

Why is the burden on me to contradict what you are making up? Post the part that talks about an attack...

Didn't actually read them? Okay, how about this, I'll just post the audio.

Please notice that the dispatcher states that a person called in that someone is threatening his life, that it appears to be a domestic, and that the person has a bat. Hard to understand the slurring, but here it is:

BTW, the burden is on you to support your claims. I never asked you to support mine. I am more than happy to do that myself.

Yeah, I read it and nowhere in here does it talk about an attack.

Okay then. Don't explain your comment, and let it stand on its own. You're the one that has to live with others reading it.

In all fairness to me most of the thug cop supporters aren't capable of reading.

BTW, the burden is on you to support your claims. I never asked you to support mine. I am more than happy to do that myself.

Done and dusted...

This all would be a non issue had the cop used some good ole Hornady TAP Urban ammunition that does not over penetrate, but blows a big hole in the perp.

I will bet anyone a dozen doughnuts he was using cheaper 9mm ball ammo. That stuff over penetrates some rifle ammunition.

I use 38+p. Turns into a pretty little flower. ;) Ball rounds are for practice in my opinion.

Just read up on this story again, to refresh my memory.

Clearly you didn't read up on the story, because you've thoroughly misrepresented it.
The real question is why did you misrepresent it?

Yeah, I read it and nowhere in here does it talk about an attack.

Do you know the difference between a dispatch and a 911 call? I gave you the dispatch which is what I was talking about. The cop was told that someone's life was in danger, it was a domestic (family member), and that a ball bat was involved by someone trying to get through a door. By any definition, that is an attack.

In all fairness to me most of the thug cop supporters aren't capable of reading.

You have failed to identify a "thug" cop in this story, nor have you defined what a "thug" cop is, much less defined what a "thug" cop supporter would be?

Yes. I thought that is what you posted. Then it is the dispatchers fault that this occured because that idiot did not accurately relay the information...

Clearly you didn't read up on the story, because you've thoroughly misrepresented it.

Describe, in detail, with specifics, and links to examples, where I have misrepresented what happened.

I'd like to ask you a serious question. Does the man that had the bat, bear any responsibility at all? In your opinion, that is.
