According to Cuban press, Ramon Castro, who was frequently mistaken for his younger brother Fidel Castro, died in Havana.
Ramon Castro, the older brother of former Cuban leader Fidel Castro and current President Raul Castro, has died at age 91, Cuban state television reported on Tuesday.
Ramon is the oldest of the three Castros and was born Oct. 14, 1924, according to a death notice printed in government-run Granma Internacional newspaper.
While less known than his two younger brothers, Ramon did hold government positions in the agricultural sector, according to the newspaper’s obituary.
He was frequently mistaken for his brother Fidel Castro as he sported a beard later in life similar to that of his sibling.
