Record new U.S. military aid deal for Israel to be signed in days: sources

The land is Israel's. Not only did God give it to them (Ezekiel 37, etc.).

And grown-ass adults believing fairy tales like that is the root of all the problems we have over there. *sigh*

Israel is a first world nation so why does it need so much U.S. foreign aid? It seems to me that if we not buying influence with it in the government there, then its a piss poor use of U.S. taxpayer money. Perhaps the Prime Minister shouldn't insult our president if he wishes to get our money...

BTW, that is what we use foreign aid for. It is either to help in a crisis, feed the impoverished, or buy influence.

I just said that Israel uses that money to buy US arms to defend itself. It does not feed mouths or help a humanitarian crisis, but it is used to defend a population. Israel might be a first world nation but it is a small one that has to maintain the state of war since its very creation and this financially is more than Israel alone can handle while at the same time remaining with its first world status. Buying the missiles that are used by the Iron Dome system to take out rockets launched at Israeli schools and hospitals, for example, is quite expensive. Aside of that as I believe was already explained to you in the past here the deal sees to the interests of not just Israel but also the US and it is ignorant to simply refer to it as one-sided. The money is invested in Israeli research and Israeli developments such as the Arrow missile, the Iron Dome and other technologies that are later to be used by the US as well. The money is also invested directly in the US military industries as it has to by the conditions of the agreement. As to wishing for "influence", the US naturally already has influence on Israel far greater than Israel has on the US and the fact that Israel is a US ally already means it doesn't act strongly against any US interest. If what you wish is to control Israel then first of all that reveals an anti-democratic ideology and secondly you will have to live with the fact that Israel is a sovereign nation and always will be, deals such as this between allies do not force one side to become the puppet of the other. It makes about 1.8% of Israel's GDP. I'm sure the Israeli PM 'insulting' the US President or vice versa isn't relevant to the existance of that deal which always has been merely two allied nations seeing to their interests.

Another dumb **** answer. Israel was told to stay out of it.

Indeed but you do realize that everything else that was said in his posts here so far were hardly 'facts' or anything that could be mistaken as such, so why bother and debunk that which clearly nobody takes seriously? ;)

Maybe Europe and the USA shouldn't have created the mess to begin with. Maybe the Palestinians will grow up some day and realize that the Fatah, PLO, and meddling by other Muslim/Arab countries are not in their best interest. Maybe other Muslim/Arab countries are pouring in money and weapons to continue the bloodshed.

The typical ignorant annoyances come up frequently in regards to Israel. If any of them took the time to visit, and see how tired the average Israeli citizen is of the whole mess, they just might come away with a different mindset.

The land is Israel's. Not only did God give it to them (Ezekiel 37, etc.), but so did the U.N. So the land-grabbing arabs can go pound sand.

Uhh....yeah.

What time do you wake up in the morning? When God tells you to?

So...Obama is giving taxpayer dollars he does not have to 'aid' a country whose GDP per capita and military are far larger/more powerful (respectively) than their neighbors AND a country with enough atomic bomb-equipped IRBM's to wipe out most of the Middle East.

Oh yeah...poor little Israel is so desperate for more American money.

All this does is get more Arabs, more pissed at America which helps regional terrorists recruit more people so that more innocent Americans get killed by these terrorists. Which encourages more American tax dollars and brave soldiers to be thrown away trying to stop these same terrorists.

Brilliant move Obama...NOT.

Like what? If anything they foment terrorism. They were of no use to us in Iraq and Afghanistan where all our real allies committed ground troops. Heck even Australia did.

Their intelligence force is second to no one. And its focused on Islamic terrorism, not the entire world like ours is.

Your post clarify that you know nothing about this "help".
Let me teach you some facts about this help:

1. 90% of the money is going to American companies and creates jobes for Americans.

2. Israel pays back these money, and Israel always pays it's debts.

3. Usa wins the cooperation of Israel superb technology companies.
some examples for you:
The Drones invented by Israel.
The only state succeeded in developing anti rocket system is Israel! Usa tried and failed.

4. Usa gets from Israel top intelligence information no technical mean can give you.
In the past we got Iraqi Mig-21 that helped American pilots improve their abilities and American lives saved.
Israeli forces took a full soviet radar system in a raid beyond the Suetz canal and brought it to Israel.
Every technology given to the Arabs by enemies of Israel and Usa, is monitored by Israel in a short time
and the information is shared with Usa.
As Israelies say: If Russia wants to lose it's priority in surface to air missile
all it has to do is to give the system to Arab state.

5. About 40 years ago, the head of American Air Force Inteligence said:
"The value of information and help we get from Israel equalls to 100 Billion Dollars"

The bottom line:
This "help" is the best investment of Usa, for every dollar given Us save or get back 10 dollars and more.
