So, donald trump has won the election, and wants to start deporting illegals a.s.a.p? what measures can he use to do this? it is clear there are a lot of illegals in the south of america near the border - how do we help deport them?

The first measure would be to ask for identity documents when buying liquor or food, among other things. names like "frank jones" would be suspicious, to say the least, and then they could simply report the name, with an address, or so forth?

Then, they could ask employers to report immigrants that they are suspicious of? this would be where they take farm workers and, again, inspect their identity documents to see if they can get rid of the surplus that are asking for their crops?

Maybe they could not pay cash - this would mean they need banks for their finances, meaning they need to give 'proof of residence?' this would show that they do not in fact have a history of being born in america - it might seem to take a long time, but using a simple program written by the banks or other sources could filter a lot, if not all, of them out?

So a legal citizen named Frank Jones who "looks illegal" would be subject to harassment when buying a loaf of bread because what kind of Latino has such a name like Frank Jones?? :doh

Excuse me but I am not showing my papers to make a purchase or whatever because of my name and how I may look to some. Go take your authoritarian crap and shove it down someone else's throat and try to come back with a half way intelligent solution.

He is likely to start with those convicted of other crimes. If their country of origin will not accept them back then deny entry to all immigrants from that country. That should do wonders for avoiding such problems in the future.

Mass deportation of 22 million illegal aliens is simply impossible. (According to the Bear Sterns method, the most intelligent attempt to estimate the number of illegal aliens presently in America, the most accurate estimation is 22 million.)

It is also arguably inhumane to subject those who've been here a long time to deportation.

But, justice for all, including American citizens, requires something be done that simply does not include citizenship.

Likely he'll create a path to legal working without citizenship for those who've been here since 12/31/09 on back.

Those who've arrived from 01/01/10 on forward will be subjected to deportation, as everyone worldwide was warned that such law-breaking violation of Americans had to stop for us to recover from the Great Recession.

But the only path to citizenship must require that they leave America and get in line.

And, it's time to drastically reduce immigration each year to be equal to the previous year's emigration, as this is required to actually manage our available resources of living space, breathable air, road space, classroom space, available living-wage and minimum-wage jobs, etc., etc., etc.

Hopefully Trump will surround himself with intelligent people who will convince him thusly.

Deport any and all that violate any US criminal law whether that be federal, state, county or city (they are essentially on probation for life). Provide modest federal bounties ($500?) to the law enforcement agency that hands them over to the feds with proof of conviction.

You don't think checking ID is okay?

I think maybe the best way to get them to leave on their own, is to make all the money they earn go into a mexican bank back in mexico. this will make them need to move back home to have their cash, or, they could remain and receive no pay?

Then, they could charge mexico for each person that arrives in america. this could be like a penalty, where the state is asked to pay a fine for each illegal found in america, as we know they came from mexico, and, without good patrols on both sides, the situation is hopeless.

Maybe the money collected from mexico could go to a special fund for medical research?

Here is the so called "solution" that Americanwoman was rightfully complaining about:

The first measure would be to ask for identity documents when buying liquor or food, among other things. names like "frank jones" would be suspicious, to say the least, and then they could simply report the name, with an address, or so forth?

So you think we should ask for papers on purchases now and any names that "look" strange we should report them? Come on man, that IS authoritarian.

He is likely to start with those convicted of other crimes.

Wouldn't have to start with convictions.

Could start with arrest/citation.

Require anyone who is so much as issued a citation for a moving violation to prove citizenship prior to going to court or "pleading guilty" by paying the ticket.

DHS could ramp up their I9 compliance audits as well, that would catch many of them, and would also allow the government to fine the businesses that are hiring illegals.

We could require hospitals and clinics to verify the citizenship of all potential patients and to immediately report illegal immigrants.

Same thing with elementary schools, require the parents of new students to prove citizenship.

There are currently 12 states which allow illegal immigrants drivers licenses. We know who they are, just round them up.

We could require banks are wire transfer houses to verify the citizenship of anyone who wishes to transfer money to foreign countries.

There are plenty of ways to go about identifying illegal aliens, we just need to will to go out and round them up.

These methods wouldn't catch ALL illegals, but it would identify the majority of them.

And such measures would make it very difficult and uncomfortable for illegals to move around freely and in some cases (wire transfers) defeat the purpose for which many of them come here in the first place.

Yes, probation for life -- agreed.

The bounty idea is interesting ...

But I just had a thought that unsettled me a bit.

Even if Trump succeeds in this way, to legalize the great majority of illegals under special restrictive terms and no citizenship, what happens after he's no longer President and a Hillary-type person gets elected hell bent on making them citizens.

Maybe the only way to safeguard the American economic infrastructure is to require they all leave within three years from now and get in line if they want to come back.

Because if they remain here, and then a future President removes their restrictions and makes them citizens, that damage can't really be undone.

And we need to perhaps act fast on this, before the state of Texas continues its direction of changing to be mostly Democrats and then the President will be a Democrat from then on until some yet to be imagined new political party emerges.

The president does not make immigration law. The bounty idea is to avoid the need for a massive increase in ICE agents. The difficulty is going to be proving the country of origin - lacking that, successful deportation is unlikely.

Ask me for ID to buy a loaf of bread and I will tell you where you can file that bread. Not gonna happen, period.

Yep. Haiti refused to take back an illegal immigrant who later went on to kill Americans. If a country won't take back one of their own citizens then we cut off all aid to that country. Save our tax payer dollars. Of course it's probably easier to just make a "diplomatic" gesture and then dump them off as part of state business.

There's no need to go all overboard with tactics. Trump has already laid out a set of steps and procedures that...if implemented and enforced...will make illegal aliens leave in droves. Let's just wait and let Trump do his thing.
