Re: Vladmir Putin 2007 "Person of the Year??!!

Time magazine wanted to name Osama bin Laden as man of the year for 2001. Their judgment just sucks.

I'll point out the obvious violation of no link being provided in a breaking news thread. But I am not a mod, so this is the best I can do....

Who?

What did he do besides work to make himself a dictator?

I don't think people understand that being named Person of the Year isn't necessarily a good or bad thing, nor is it really an honor. They merely name the person who had the most impact, whether it be good or bad.

I guess it depends on your perspective. I'd say Osama Bin Laden definitely had the most impact in 2001.

Exactly.

Heck, here are a few perfect examples; Bush and Giuliani got it.

Well, he has done an impressive job picking Russia up out of the economic disarray brought about by the USSR's fall. Not to mention the ruckus he's caused with his policy towards Iran.
