The Russian Prosecutor Generals office has recognized George Soros' "Open Society" Institute a "threat to national security" banning Russian citizens from participation in their attempt to whip up trouble.

So funny:lamo Still trying to create that colour revolution in Moscow?! Pathetic.

Russia has branded foundations run by the financier George Soros a threat to the country’s constitutional order, and banned them from disbursing grants to Russian partners.

I see Russia continues full speed ahead with the authoritarian police state.

So they should let US oligarchs whip up trouble in order to trigger a color revolution (which there is little support for) in Moscow just like they did in Ukraine/Kiev?

Russia is regressing back to the days of the Iron Curtain.

[sarcasm] It appears that this is what their people want - or at least that's what the Russian government run media tells us, so it has to be true and accurate. [/sarcasm]

On the other hand, I'm a little torn about them wanting to kick Soros out. I can understand not wanting him around, but I cannot, and will not, support silencing anyone.

Yes, because in a real democracy like Russia pretends to be, people have what is called freedom of speech and expression.

Russia banning free speech, human rights, and personal liberty?

How is this news?

But before we condemn Russia, let's not forget we have extremist segments Stateside that would like to see these organizations gone , as well!

There's always going to be authoritarian interests in positions of power attempting to control individuals by stifle transparency & freedom of thought & communication.

And I agree with the posters above citing Putin is regressing Russia back to the days of the Iron Curtain.

My grandfather & father beat it out of one of those countries (Poland) just before Adolph made it in, while leaving their relatives behind. I was alive in 1981 to see the effects of Poland completely locked-down by the military & henceforth Russia's heightened total control of the media. The Polish underground, which eventually surfaced & prevailed through the Solidarity movement, existed by hand-carrying highly illegal VCR videos from clandestine underground meeting to meeting, because these were the only accurate sources of information to dispel the propaganda the state fostered upon them. These individuals risked their personal freedom & physical well-being by possessing these materials. We don't want to see this repeated, but it appears Putin may be leaning in that direction here.

The Russians are not nearly as stupid as the western media portrays them.

I think this foundation activity as it was performed should have banned sooner or later. Some things that were fulfilled by certain organisations donated by the foundation are absolutely unacceptable or at least would be prohibited in the USA and I'm sure It would be right. One of the initiative not the most well known was to sponsor issuying a new russia history book for federal schools . This book was expected to represent the Soviet period of the russian history as one black and blood spot. Such point of view would never be accepted by the vast majority of russian people.

It appears you will be getting what you long for, a return to the dark ages of totalitarianism. What was so good about the USSR anyway?

Thank you for your question.

In fact It's not an easy task to explain to western people that the Soviet Union had some bright achievements: free access to modern at that time medical care, free university-level education, a lot of social benefits, a very low crime rate (a young girl dressed in a short skirt may take a walk at any night time in any district of any town and you were sure nothing would happen to her or there were no drug addicts at least at any significant number) and many other things. A great deal of those achievements was lost and hardly may be got again. But even many russians consider that epoque as one of great breakthroughs and victories. Anyway Russians would like to define their attitude to the Soviet period themselves without Mr Soros contribution.
And what do you mean saying about totalitarianism?

The world is not so black and white, the globalists exist in every country, including Russia.

How a U.S. Think Tank Fell for Putin

The symbolism of the location could not have been lost on the meeting’s participants. Sharing an 800-mile border with Russia, Finland has delicately managed relations with its neighbor. During the Cold War, it adopted a policy of formal neutrality, accepted Soviet interference in its domestic politics, and imposed rigorous self-censorship to avoid provoking Moscow. This phenomenon of voluntarily choosing limited sovereignty to appease a large and aggressive neighbor earned the moniker “Finlandization,” and the Soviet Union held up Finland as an example of its ability to live in peace and friendship with its neighbors. At the time of the Boisto meeting last summer, foreign policy luminaries like Henry Kissinger, Zbigniew Brzezinski, and David Ignatius were trumpeting “Finlandization” as a model for Ukraine to follow.

And let me guess, you actually believe Putin when he says, 9/11 inside job ?impossible to conceal,? says Vladimir Putin | Conspiracyclub?

Claims that the terror attacks of September 11, 2001 were orchestrated by US intelligence agencies are “complete nonsense,” President Vladimir Putin told attendees of a youth forum.

“This is complete nonsense, it is impossible,” Putin said on Monday, responding to a question posed by an attendee of the Seliger 2011 youth forum.

“To imagine that US intelligence services did it deliberately, with their own hands, is complete nonsense,” the President said. “Only people who do not understand the workings of security agencies can say that. It would be impossible to conceal it.”

The silliest thing about your post is it is a direct contradiction of itself. By campaigning to revive the Soviet Union; Putin is the biggest flippin globalist on the planet. His disinformation and propaganda campaigns must be stopped in their tracks!
