It won't work with a terrorist or other unlawful army, they have no country to retaliate against. If they set off a nuke in a major city and bring our economy to it's knees there is no equivalent we can strike back at.

Which is precisely why we cannot allow a rouge state to acquire nuclear weapons which they might supply to such a terrorist group to act as it's proxy in striking at us. They can claim innocence.

That's what the left/anti-war crowd just doesn't get. We couldn't take the chance with Saddam, we can't take it with Iran.

Pretty much true. MAD wont work with Ahmendinijad he and his administration.
They are all for welcoming the 12th Imam regardless of the cost to his people. MAD worked with the Soviets because Marx never said in his teachings to go out and kill X amount people in the name of Communism. Although that was pretty much ignored by every communist country. Religious fanaticism knows no bounds and if we have the chance to use a first strike when its the only option Im all for the military in pushing the button.
