Putin issues 'apocalyptic' warning

Putin is giving the ultimate warning to USA and Russia is prepared for the destruction.

Vladimir Putin: War with Ukraine would be 'apocalyptic' but unlikely - CNN.com

State-run media reports

That phrase says it all. Putin can tell the Russians whatever he wants. As for the Ukraine, there is a war going on there now. Ending it would require the Russians to withdraw. Whether or not that will happen depends on how much the economic sanctions are hurting Moscow.

Russia will not succumb to US sanctions. Not even Iran.

The longer Ukraine holds out against Putin the more likely it is that Russians will oust him. Sanctions can make it harder for him to continue to wage war in Ukraine but I doubt it will stop him. At this point I dont think he can afford to stop politically he needs a victory, a defeat will hasten his demise. We can only hope that happens sooner rather than later.

No matter the outcome of Ukraine, Russia will not have a political or economic hegemony for any time in the foreseeable future.

He was back for a second term of office. To him Obama is a minnow who makes a fool of himself.

The difference is Obama can and will leave office peacefully, Putin wont because he cant

Yes you are right. Obama will be in the Hall of Fame, smiling all the way to the bank with a fat pension.

A dictator dictates and nothing else matters.

Well now.....the next move is on Putin. So what do you think his response will be?

The United States on Monday delivered more than 100 pieces of military equipment to vulnerable NATO-allied Baltic states in a move designed to provide them with the ability to deter potential Russian threats. The deliveries are intended to "demonstrate resolve to President (Vladimir) Putin and Russia that collectively we can come together," US Major General John R. O'Connor told AFP as he oversaw the delivery of the equipment in the port of Riga.

NATO is countering Russia's moves by boosting defences on Europe's eastern flank with a spearhead force of 5,000 troops and command centres in six formerly communist members of the alliance, including the three Baltic states and Bulgaria, Poland and Romania.

"What we're demonstrating is a unified front from the north to the south," O'Connor said......snip~

Wow. That's quite a decision for Obama to like actually make. Did he eat his Wheaties this week?

Doesn't properly finish 2 wars so as to lead to stability in the region, but rather greater instability, and he's now picking a new fight?

No idea. But better late than never, I suppose. From my figuring, the time to have done this would have been earlier, when it was reported that all the separatists were really Russian troops in civies, when that airliner was shot down by an obviously military AA missile.

I think we can see Putin escalating things a bit more now.

Yeah, I'm sure he will. Whether that's positive for achieving a resolution to this or not, I'm kinda thinking not. Escalation hardly ever are.

Wow I wasnt aware of a Russian invasion in Ukraine. When did that happen?

If Putin wanted Ukraine there would be a Russian flag flying over Kiev. You do realize that he turned down Donbass to join Russia right?

Why would a leader with 85% approval rating leave office in the middle of his term?

Nonsense he knows if he actually tried a full invasion of Ukraine he would be toast. He`s trying to get as much as he can without going over the edge.

It`s almost as good as Kim Jong-un`s ratign and just as worthless

How so? He has turned down Donbass for admittance through referendum.
I do think I saw a Russia sub down in our local pond the other day though. :lamo
