Professor Stefan Kropelin, the head of the Sudanese Studies Unit at the University of Cologne is one the few European experts who knows the nature of the Sudanese affairs and has a long academic experience in the area.
Four year ago, the professor who dotted the I's and crossed the it's in the interview about some Sudanese issues ahead of Sudan’s general elections in 2010. He spoke about the conflict in Darfur, Sudan and ICC and the differences between the government and political opposition.
Prof Kropelin has attacked Eric Reeves, US university teacher who is launching anti Sudan campaign and fabricating reports about Sudan, saying Reeves lacks the knowledge to speak about issues out his line.
Like any European scholar, Prof Kropelin believes in specialization and unbiased researching apart from Reeve’s suspicious project funded and monopolized by certain circles which have certain agenda in Sudan.
Reeves is a professor of literature and it therefore seems reasonable for him to research this issue instead of poking his nose in things that he is unfamiliar with.
The German professor said that he has no personal differences with Reeves who developed himself to be biased activist, but he advised him to shoulder up to professionalism which requires honesty and fairness with others
On Reeves’ report about the situation in Darfur, Professor Kropelin was shocked by these articles, saying there is no single photo or statement that support Reeves’ allegation about the situation in the region.
This testimony indicates that Eric Reeves is a man of limited intellect because facts on the ground have nothing to do with these fabrications.
