Racist Crowd boos L.A. police chief

And if it is found to be a rightous shoot...bets on whether or not there is rioting?

They are going to declare a righteous shoot whether it is or not. No one here doubts that.

The whole Westlake and MacArthur Park areas are already seething just below the surface, ready to riot over it. My guess, there's gonna be riots. Villeragos is already making daily pleas to be calm and the Guatemalan consulate came out to the streets specifically to calm the crowds and beg for no violence.

Personally, I think if they do riot, it might not be such a bad thing. It will probably turn the public opinion against illegals and give an excuse to enact stronger measures against their free movement within our borders. It could be a win for everyone but illegals if they do.

Well, if the suspect was brandishing a knife, it could very well be a clean shoot. The problem is that the history is so bad that neither the cops nor the community trust each other at this point, with good cause.

The illegal mexican community doesnt like police.. period. Im guessing (because I actually CALLED the LAPD today to commend them and stand with them) that there are over 450,000 illegal mexicans in LA. That is a LOW estimate. MANY of the mexican in general are prejudiced against whites. They believe the US has ZERO right to tell them what to do. That includes local police. They want to take over this country!!! I know so because I can hear and see. Why they dont want their OWN damn country is something I dont understand.
By the way, there are MANY great mexicans! (especially the above average females) But there are about 35%-40% of them that want to take over. And about that many who refuse to even speak/learn English because of their hatred / racisim toward whites. ( I think they hate blacks equally though  )

I think you're a nice guy, Noodle, but I don't think you know anything about LAPD.

And, for the record, the person involved was guatemalan, not MEXICAN. Guess what? Guatemala is a WHOLE OTHER COUNTRY.

Mexicans aren't Guatemalans, and vice versa.

Nice guy????? :?
Anyhew, after I freakin' CALLED the LAPD and spoke to some female officer representing the LAPD today I gathered my information. I dont bull**** anyone here. And if and when I have questions I will call the god damn source! Either way she said that there is a universal language when it comes to STOP! And it makes sense. But the guy was drunk off his ass Im guessing.

Plus we had talked about LA diversity. The mexicans and Koreans / Asians have now far outnumbered the white population. We also discussed the cultural difference of where they came from and where they are now living. It is a large hurdle. BUT.... outside of knowing the two languages.... Spanish and English... the LAPD has no intention of specific training to learn other languages.

So now we have a drunk person WITH a knife. He cant understand ANY language in the Country where he lives. He sees cops.... offical representatives. And it looks like they want him to put the freakin WEAPON down. He is drunk and continues.

Youre damn right they should shoot with lethal force! They going to shoot the guy with pepper spray while he is after them with a knife?
A: He was drunk
B: had a deadly weapon
C: was too drunk to know to put the knife down
D: Maybe speaking English OR Spanish would be a good idea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I stand by police..... MUST stand by police.... in these matters. Why would anyone with common sense NOT?

Interesting. As I read the first few posts, I was ready to say it sounds like a justified kill and the officer(s) in question should get a medal. But then I read Jall's post and apparently there are some serious questions that need to be answered and given that we're talking about the LAPD, I'm not holding my breath we'll get honest answers easily. The LAPD is perhaps the only force in the nation that could give Chicago a run for its money when it comes to corruption.

That pretty much sums it up right there.

Yeah I was gonna ask the same thing, he said he was guessing that he was drunk. So A) and C) are made on a guess. B) doesn't say what type of weapon. He says knife, but early reports said putty knife, right? So what sort of knife since it may not be a "deadly weapon". This will have to be ferreted out. It's possible the cops acted appropriately, but that has to be proven.

I worked my way through college doing drywall. you can do a lot of damage with a "putty knife" so harping on the fact that the guy was only carrying a putty knife is a bull**** arguement. damn near any solid object can be used as a deadly weapon given the motivation to do so.

every article I have read on this story mentions witnesses who said the guy was either drunk or had been drinking.

but it doesn't really matter. whether this shooting was justified or not there will be morons rioting because that's what morons do.

I just hope they riot in the proper way. Usually in these things, those people just destory their own ****. But if you're gonna riot, do it right. Burn down government buildings. That's how you riot.

yeah, I never understood the reasoning of the rioters. "hey we're pissed off at someone about somthing, let's burn down and loot our own ****ing neighborhood"

as I said...MORONS

The knife they are showing on the news now (which MSNBC is reporting as a switchblade) is a small 4 inch blade with a serated back and knuckle grips...which is what is being used as an excuse for why no one saw the knife to start with. However, ANOTHER witness came forward on KTLA last night and declared, emphatically, that there was no knife, just the man's toolbelt, nor did she see any woman talking to the police and saw no pregnant woman at all.

maybe she didn't see the woman talking to the police or the pregnant woman becaue the cops talked to before they went looking for the guy and by the time this lady came along they were no longer on the scene. just because she didn't see them doesn't mean they don't exist.

she didn't see a knife of any kind? the guys hands were empty? I guess then all those other people who saw a knife, putty knife, workers tool, etc were just liars.

why is this one witness so much more credible than all of the others??? could it possibly be because he story makes the cops look bad and the others don't?

I wasn't there, so I don't know... but if a cop shoots someone to death, they better have a damn good reason.

Don't police have clubs and tasers? A knife is dangerous but it's not that high risk, especially if you have a police team present.

a knife is very high risk. I have some photos I could show you of what one guy can do to a cops with a knife...after he had been tasered and pepper sprayed.

if you attack a cop with a knife, expect to get your stupid ass shot.

I didn't make any comment as to the credibility of this witness or any other. And let me clarify something...she stated he wasn't brandishing a knife at the police.

Also, the comments from the police department indicated that the woman reported the crime to the police officers and was still in the vicinity to thank the officers after they shot the man. All witnesses that have come forward have stated that this is not the case. At this time, none of the three local news stations have been able to locate the woman that supposedly made the complaint to the police.

So these moronic protesters think it's wrong for the police to use lethal force to prevent the murder of an innocent? I can't believe these people support a murderous thug simply because of his race. Yet they have the gall to yell "Justicia!" If they want justice they should pay their taxes and go back to Mexico where they can file and enter our country in a just and legal manner.

and several other witnesses have stated that he was.

not surprising since the cops have not released her name. but, of course, that does bring up the question of why not.

Actually, the cops are saying several other have stated he was, but none have come forward to verify this. That's the fishy part to me. That's the part that makes me ask questions.

I guess if they are treating her as a victim, they probably wouldn't release her name. That's the only explanation I can come up with.

has there been any confirmation on whther the guy was legal or illegal? i have heard it reported both ways.

The local news stopped commenting on that aspect as of last night, as far as I can tell. So who knows at this point.

If he is illegal though, he has a lot of family here with him.

You know, no one is quicker than I am to come out in defense of the police, but Los Angeles has a history that makes them more suspect than other departments. And calling the police department for comment on a police action that is under investigation is no way to gather factual information. You're going to get whatever the PIO wrote up.

This I think is secondary at best. Whether or not he is legal or illegal doesn't make him any less dead or the shooting any more or less justified. The primary IMO is what Jallman referred to. The police have said several witnesses; but no witnesses that uphold their side of the story have actually been presented. That's first and foremost.

Ummm, they were from Guatemala. You know...separate country and all.
