Do most immigrants work harder than the average american? And if so can we learn something from their work ethic?

In my experience they do not really work "harder" so much as they work longer and for less.
They also produce a poor quality service in my sector, but i admit I have heard a lot about them producing good quality in other non construction fields.

There is nothing to "learn" from their work ethic.
They are used to less and therefore willing to work more for what they get.
Take any nationality or race of people and give them nothing all their life and then give them a chance to work, and you will see the same results.

From what I know my answer would be no because I don't see any, or only a few diging ditches like the union laborers and other Americans do.
I see many of them around here and they mostly work on farms picking and for landscapers.
There is a place the legal and illegals hang out every morning looking for work and I havent heard of them going to work on a construction labor job. Most of the guys that need tempt help on construction don't even go there anymore because they just won't do that work.

Now if you mean work harder on a specific job I would say, I don't know because most I have seen on landscaping work right along with Americans at about the same pace.

The only difference I can see is that they are willing to work for a longer period of the day like 10-12 hours but remember that they can burn themselves out because they are only around here for about 6 months then the head back home to where ever and rest until the next season.

Typically yes, an immigrant must work harder than the average american or else they would not get the job that the average american could also get.
A company that hires an immigrant must also sponsor said immigrant in order for them to work here. That's an extra step that would not be required for hiring a local worker.

I'm talking about immigrants that come here legally. From my experience a lot of them work very hard either at work or at school, and a lot of them start businesses. As a matter of fact, all the immigrants that I have worked with whether from China, Bangladesh, Laos, Vietnam, Pakistan, India, Germany, Philippines, Russia, Yugoslavia etc. all seem to have great work ethic and all seem to be educated?

John1234 said it right, they work for less and its because they came from nothing and live twenty to a house. I have lost my buisness, and had to sell my home of ten years, because of all of these "wetbacks" who will run, crawl, and swim to this country!!!!!

They work 12 hour days, someone on here said? Good for them I work 16 hour days plus! I have worked 100 plus hour weeks to make my bills, which keep going up!

I had to claim bankruptcy, close my buisness, because I dont have twenty friends making 50 dollars a week to pay MY MORTGAGE!!!!! I owned and operated a sucessful painting company for 12 years, everything was good, for the first few years, then more and more mexiacns keept on leaping on over, until recently I had to move onto something else, because of all of these illegals are working for nothing, and NOT PAYING TAXES!!! I refused to hire anyone without peperwork, and would never give a job to someone who can only say eh? Because I did not want to GET INTO TROUBLE WITH THE LAW!!!!! - come to find out, the companies are protected by our bull***** country, and they are slaped on the wrist.
GO TO WENDYS OR MCDONALDS YOU MEXICANS AND TRY TO GET HIRED THERE WITHOUT PAPERS!

I had fifteen White, and Black, hard working people who I took care of, and would never pay some mexican pennies to do so I could profit more, knowing that those hard working AMERICANS (white, brown or black) would be out of a job, and loose their home!

They are in serious trouble now because of it!

You see this is no blame game, moron, I work two jobs at more then 80 hours a week, I had to let employees go, one after the other because I was constantly being underbid, by people who hired mexicans!!!! Just like a very good friend of mine, how has since lost over 65% of his business, luckily for him, he has been in business for over twenty five years, and has return coporate business. I had only 20% or so, of return corporate business, which was not enough to keep the doors open.

YOUR AN IDOIT, who obviouvly knows nothing of the business, or you would have not opened your unintellegent female mouth!

explain to me, how I should have 'saved' my business?
