Well my husband, whom you hope will commit suicide one day, is actually a contruction foreman and we have many discussions about this and about illegals in the business and what it means. He deals with rival companies that use illegals all the time but they don't give up or roll over. They do what they can to stay competitive and get new contracts.

For one, keep bidding new jobs. There are alot of companies that don't want to hire illegals to do the job. Another thing is to be aggressive, competitive, and assertive. I had fifteen White, and Black, hard working people who I took care of, and would never pay some mexican pennies to do so I could profit more, knowing that those hard working AMERICANS (white, brown or black) would be out of a job, and loose their home!

Well, I can't say that I don't blame you for being bitter. Your competitors, the employers of illegals, are largely responsible for this illegal Mexican invasion. There must be thousands of employers like yourself who refused to hire illegals and got screwed by the system. You might think about relocating to Arizona or Oklahoma, with their tough on illegals/tough on the employers of illegals laws. I don't think you'd have the same problem with employers hiring illegals in those states.

Well... it sounds nice. And i am sure it works for your husband in his location.
But it really depends on how many swarm your area.
I am a painting contractor as well.
And I watched them swarm to my city and devastate our housing and construction industry.
When 10's of thousands migrate at once to a small city it wreaks havoc on everything.

They came here and reduced the going rate for Interior New Construction from $3.00 per square foot to less than $1.00, setting back our field by almost 20 years.
They all left, and due to the housing crisis that came afterwards, all construction prices are frozen.
No one will pay more because they don't have to.
Supply and Demand was destroyed in our town by flooding the demand with an element outside of our system.

I'm not sure about it all, but I do think that if an illegal can come here work hard and start a business or a legal immigrant for that matter, what does that say about us Americans if we are really being honest with ourselves, stating they are taking all the jobs away. Do you really believe you cannot work hard STILL in America and not be successful?

I think that is the lesson we need to learn from legal and illegals. If we worked that hard whether in school or with our hands we wouldn't have any problems in my opinion?
