Guys, there's no official national language. If you have trouble with spanish speakers, I suggest you learn spanish.

Eating out is a luxuary and if you don't like the service or the fact they don't speak english at the particular fast food place, don't eat there.

I totally disagree with the war in Iraq. We are participating in an illegal war there. However Afghanistan is a consequence of the Taliban harboring terrorists who attacked our nation. The war there is not on the same level as the war in Iraq. I do agree with most of your commentary with the above illiterated exception.

We need to take care of our own economy first. If we run out of middle class consumers, it won't matter anymore. We will end up with the same kind of lifestyle the Mexicans "enjoy" down in Old Mexico...
The only countries in this hemispere that enjoy prosperity are those with a substantail middle class....

Whether or not that happens depends on the 2008 presidential election.
I think we would do well to focus our attentions on ending this costly (in more ways than one) military action abroad and providing health care for every American citizen, starting with the children.
Keeping illegal immigrants out of the country is low- low- on my list of priorities when it comes to what needs to be done to save this nation.
We are a long way from "ending up with the same kind of lifestyle the Mexicans enjoy down in Old Mexico".
But we are also lagging far behind every other nation in the industrialized world when it comes to health care and human services.
And that is an embarrassment which needs to be addressed.
That is not the fault of the Mexicans, but of our own greedy, power-mad capitalist government, which doesn't give- and never has given- a rat's portly posterior about the working class.
There's your enemy, if you need one.
Not these poor Mexicans who come from a situation so bleak that the US looks like heaven by comparison.

I support universal health care for every U.S. citizen. I wonder, though, if you could tell me how such will be afforded given the more then 2+ million illegal immigrants in this nation which are already taxing our health care and social services system to the verge of breaking now? Seems to me providing for illegals takes away from our own, those who honestly deserve the care and treatment.

We're rich as ****e. We're the richest country in the world. We're rolling in dough. Nothing's "on the verge of breaking now".
That's a lie they tell you.
The government simply doesn't choose to spend our money on services that benefit us.
They have better uses for it.

WE are not rolling in dough. The rich and powerful are, but the rest of us are not. The middle class is shrinking, the poverty class is growing, and it is the greed of the powerful that can take the blame.
I agree we need to get on the same track as other countries when it comes to health care, and I don't blame the Mexicans for coming here to work, but we don't need to continue to take care of Mexico's problems for them.
We need to take care of our own first, and the Mexican government can take care of theirs.

Illegals are NOT taxing our healthcare system to the point of breaking. Illegals are but a small portion of a very big and complex issue. Saying that they are about to "break our system" is nothing more than parroting unsubstantiated rhetoric.
