and, it appears they may be right:

Although the Obama administration has explained that immigrants who cross the U.S. border illegally can be deported, lengthy backlogs of more than 456,000 cases mean that immigrants can effectively remain in the U.S. for years before a judge decides whether they should leave the country.

This is the same thing that happened back in the 1980s when amnesty for illegals was passed.

Meanwhile, the POTUS seems to be in favor of amnesty, and the Congress dithers and does nothing.

Personally, I'd prefer Americans, regardless of ethnicity.
We can't take on the entire third world. We're only about 5% of the population, after all.

But, we can take on more engineers, scientists, doctors, computer experts, law... oh, no scratch that. We've got more lawyers than we need already.
 
The Liberals have enforced an avoidance of immigrant westerners for the past fifty years so that they could destroy the prosperous American culture with their worship of "multiculturalism." Let's pass on all the 3rd Worlders for the next few years and go back to bringing in Europeans and see if that turns America back around to the proud country it used to be.

Solution: fast track citizenship for college graduates in professional fields we need and deportation order for all the rest.

If they want to be in those fields, WORK HARD FOR IT.

We cannot shy away from competition, that's how the best of the best are made. THAT'S how this country became GREAT.

Exactly. If they are professionals and an economic net benefit, who cares where they come from.

Or, simply give the former green cards, then enforce the law against hiring illegals. They'll find their own way home.

Not true. If you're more educated and more productive, you add more value to a company, and any good company would take you over a cheaper worker.

You're just afraid of competition are you? That's what keeps the capitalist machine nice and sharp and smooth.
