I love it, NBC reports that key parts were struck down, everyone else headlines, key part upheld.

So... which parts are the key parts?

-- Authorizing police to arrest immigrants without warrant where "probable cause" exists that they committed any public offense making them removable from the country.

-- Making it a state crime for "unauthorized immigrants" to fail to carry registration papers and other government identification.

-- Forbidding those not authorized for employment in the United States to apply, solicit or perform work. That would include immigrants standing in a parking lot who "gesture or nod" their willingness to be employed.

Yet the court let stand one of the most controversial parts of the bill -- a provision that lets police check a person's immigration status while enforcing other laws if "reasonable suspicion" exists that the person is in the United States illegally.

NO one quite understands how the politics of this law works, so lemme explain it again.

It doesn't matter how the SCOTUS rules on it. AZ is a plutocracy, period, which guarantees the law will be completely repealed within the state.

AT some point (likely very soon), businesses within the state will draft repeal legislation and force everyone in the legislature to vote for it, or else threaten them with the loss of their careers, just like what they did to russel pearce (whose ousting was largely due to the influence of the AZ Mormon business community). Because if they don't, they'll just lose $$ and be uncompetitive w/businesses in other states that permit hiring undocumented labor.

The same thing will happen in Alabama.

Not likely or reality based. Arizona is not a putocracy, nor is any other state.

It's a plutocracy if the wealthy are controling the state....which is highly possible in Arizonia and many other states. Even the US congress could be considered a plutocracy since more than half the members are millionaires.

SCOTUS just put another wrinkle in Jan Brewer's face. LOL

I was a little surprised on the the outcome. I will live with it though. Now its time to get our federal elected officials to do something regarding the constent influx of illegal aliens.

You keep bring the plutocracy up. Doing so does not make it a fact. If you were correct then the majority of Democrats and Liberertains in Arizona are on the hook with big business and it would be the Republicans fighting this effort. So does your political beliefs support illegal immigration and corrupt big business?

But AZ has and continues to hire US CITIZENS after raids once a month. AZ is also the only state in USA to charge and prosecute an owner criminal.
After spending YEARS unemployed, I was hired with in 30 days of being in AZ. They pay a legal wage for all hours worked. including OT.

Your just full of ****. AZ is the only state for US Citizens. and the FACTS and ACTIONS in the state prove it.
