The Continental Army wore uniforms plainly identifying them as military. They were commissioned by the Continental Congress under the command of George Washington. The Congress was established by the legislatures of the 13 colonies. This was not a rogue organization unelected by the people.
If you wish to label George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Ben Franklin, John Adams and George Mason as terrorists, then by all means do. Understand that you will have no credibility left, however.
