I don't know anything about how the Independence war was fought, so I don't assume that the Americans were terrorists or not.

But PeteEu has a point: enemies are much more easily called "terrorists" than allied soldiers. European civilians who killed German officiers during the occupation were called "resistants" by the Allies and "terrorists" by the Axis. Same for Chechen warriors (not those who kill Russian civilians; those who kill Russian soldiers) or Iraqis (not those who kill civilians, but the snipers who kill US soldiers)

Sometimes using Terror Tactics is OK though. Point in case, the European Resistance.

But they had a line too. They did not capture and behead innocent civilians. They made sure their targets were SS or Nazis or soldiers. That is what the USA does. WE do our best to target the enemy that is trying to kill our soldiers. We don't go out of our way to kill civilians. Sometimes it happens, and it kinda disgusts me when people like Pete refuse to acknowldge this fact in their vain effort to make the US a bunch of bad guys. Hatred of the USA is amazing. The country that protects or saves most of the world for so long gets crapped on by the very people it helps. The USA isn't perfect, but at least we step up and try to help. We offer more in foreign aid than all other nations combined, if I remember correctly...

To Whom It May Concern:

The Continental Army wore uniforms plainly identifying them as military. They were commissioned by the Continental Congress under the command of George Washington. The Congress was established by the legislatures of the 13 colonies. This was not a rogue organization unelected by the people.

If you wish to label George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Ben Franklin, John Adams and George Mason as terrorists, then by all means do. Understand that you will have no credibility left, however.
