Stalin. From the notes of the conversation with AM Kollontai, November 1939: "Many of the cases of our party and people will be distorted and spat upon in the first place abroad, and in our country too. Zionism, seek to dominate the world, will be severely avenge us for our successes and achievements. He still sees Russia as a barbaric country, as raw materials appendage. And my name will also be slandered. Me will attribute a lot of atrocities....And yet, no matter how the events unfolded, but it will take time, and the eyes of the new generations will appeal to the business and the victories of our socialist fatherland. Year after year, will come the new generations. They again would lift the banner of their fathers and grandfathers, and will give us a proper full honor. Their future they will build on our past. "
First I would try to tell the truth about Stalin. Expose the myths, the creation of Western propaganda about the "bloody dictator". But I thought that better than I. is can do Roosevelt, Churchill and other great men. Everyone probably knows how Churchill did not like communism, and he wanted to "strangle in the cradle." But, that's what he was talking about Stalin, get to know him - "There is more happiness for Russia was that in the years of hardship headed the Russian genius and unwavering leader Joseph Stalin. He was an outstanding personality, appeals to our cruel time in the period in which the leaking of his life. Stalin was a man of extraordinary energy, erudition and indomitable strength, sharp, tough, ruthless in business, and in the interview, which even I, brought up in the British Parliament, could not do anything to stop ... In his writings sounded gigantic force. This force is so great to Stalin that he seemed unique among the leaders of all time ... His influence on people's irresistible. When he entered the hall of the Yalta Conference, all of us, as if on cue, stood up. And, strangely, held hands at his sides. Stalin had a deep, devoid of any panic, logical and sensible wisdom. He was a past master in the hour of need to find a way out of the most desperate situation ... It was the man who destroyed his enemy hands of his enemies, make us who openly called imperialists fight against the imperialists ... It took Russia with a wooden plow and left it equipped with atomic weapons ... ".
For those who may not know, I recall that Churchill - is the British Prime Minister in 1940-1945 and 1951-1955, respectively, which, together with Stalin was anti-Hitler coalition and fought against the Nazis
Here's what he said about Stalin, U.S. President in 1933 -1945 years. Franklin D. Roosevelt - "This man knows how to act. His goal is always before his eyes. Working with him is a pleasure. He poses the question, who want to discuss and do not deviate. ".
Very interesting view of Stalin at the time stated and Averell Harriman, the U.S. ambassador to the Soviet Union during the WW2 - "He has a deep knowledge, a fantastic ability to delve into the details, mental alertness and amazingly keen understanding of human nature ... I found it better informed than Roosevelt, more realistic than Churchill, and in a certain sense, the most effective of the military leaders. "
For those who like to blame Stalin for the "religious persecution" should very carefully examine the opinion of the then church leaders who knew the Generalissimo directly on business. See and think for yourself. Here's what he said about Stalin after his death in 1953, the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Alexy I, - «Great Leader of our nation Joseph Stalin died. Abolish the power of a great, social power, in which our people feel their own strength, which he led in his creative work and enterprise, which he was comforted for years. No area, which would not penetrate deep look great Leader ... As a man of genius, he is in every case revealed what was invisible and inaccessible to the ordinary mind. "
Archbishop Luke, "" Stalin retained Russia showed what it means for the world. So I, as an Orthodox Christian and Russian patriot bow to Stalin. "
Charles de Gaulle: "Stalin's name will always be associated with the memory of the great struggle that peoples of the USSR, the people of France and the allied nations brought together to victory." Herbert George Wells on Stalin: "I have never met a man more sincere, decent and honest, there is nothing dark and sinister, and it is these qualities should explain his tremendous power in Russia. I was thinking earlier, before you meet with him, maybe think of him badly because people were afraid of him. But I found that, on the contrary, no one is afraid of him, and all believe in him. "
Cordell Hull, U.S. Secretary of State 1933-1944: "Stalin - an amazing person. He is endowed with extraordinary abilities and intelligence, as well as the ability to grasp the essence of practical issues. He's one of those leaders, along with Roosevelt and Churchill, on whose shoulders rests the responsibility of such, which does not know a single person in the next 500 years. " I intentionally wrote the statements of those people who can not be suspected of the love of the socialist system and the USSR. This is only a small part of quotes about Stalin.
repressed. Example. Telegram Joseph Davis June 28, 1937 President Roosevelt (after completion of the trial of Tukhachevsky group):"While the outside world by printing believes that the process - is a fabrication + - we know that this is not the case. And maybe, well, that the outside world thinks so."
Article by Joseph Davis for the newspaper "Sunday Express" in November 1942:"Suddenly, I was faced with such a picture, I had to see clearly even when he was in Russia. Much of the world believed at the time that the famous traitors and cleaning processes 1935 - 1938 years are outrageous examples of barbarism, ingratitude and a manifestation of hysteria. Currently, however, it became apparent that they showed remarkable foresight of Stalin and his associates." In the end it is best to speech
Lord Beaverbrook, William Maxwell, Minister in the government procurement Churchill (1940-1945 gg.), A newspaper tycoon:" Communism under Stalin won the applause and admiration of all Western nations. Communism under Stalin gave us an example of patriotism, which is hard to find analogies in history. Communism under Stalin gave to the world the best generals. The persecution of Christians? No. There is no religious persecution. Churches open doors. Harassment nationalities? Not at all. Jews have lived there as well as all the rest. Political repression? But it is now clear that those who were shot, would have delivered Russia."

I don't know if to laugh or cry after reading this.
First of all, it would be useful if you'd provide the links to the sources of all these quotes.

Second, just a quick lazyman wiki search;
"The Great Purge (Russian: Большая чистка, transliterated Bolshaya chistka) was a series of campaigns of political repression and persecution in the Soviet Union orchestrated by Joseph Stalin in 1937-1938. It involved the purge of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, repression of peasants, deportations of ethnic minorities, and the persecution of unaffiliated persons, characterized by widespread police surveillance, widespread suspicion of "saboteurs", imprisonment, and killings. Estimates of the number of deaths associated with the Great Purge run from the official figure of 681,692 to nearly 2 million."

Third, a quick question for ya - if Stalin was such a genius why the **** the USSR got itself to a verge of total annihilation for the first 2-3 years of WWII?!?

Fallen.

Isn't Stalin the guy who invented the phrase: "Purge unto others before they purge unto you"?

Who has time to read a post that long?

Stalin was a political animal and a proficient backstabber. That's what he had going for him and in the communist structure, that helped him get power. I guess that denotes some kind of intelligence. However, it is not the kind of intelligence you want in a leader. Not the kind of intelligence you want from someone in power.

Ofc, all you said is true.

It isn't to up to the readers of your post to establish the credibility of what you write. That is your job. If you think you can't be bothered with it, imagine how unmotivated readers are to establish your claims. Between you and the person reading, who should have to be the one to take time to Google for your own claims?

Links, or it didn't happen.

The "free" encyclopedia "Wikipedia" has removed the article of the Russian researcher Boris Borisov, which is dedicated to assessing U.S. casualties as a result of the Great Depression of 1932-33. Based on the analysis of statistical data, Boris Borisov, in his article "Golodomor ad usum externum" estimated the number of victims of the financial crisis in the U.S. in more than 7 million people - and for the first time directly compared the incident to the United States in 1932-33 with starvation in the Soviet Union 1932-33. In his article, Borisov used the official data of the American Statistical Office. After considering the population of the United States, the dynamics of births and deaths, immigration and emigration, the author comes to a disappointing conclusion: for the famine of 1932-33 were missing more than 7 million lives. : -
But it's pointless to write. As I understand it, you're smarter than Churchill and Roosevelt. Heh-heh.

Tovarishka, I don't use wikipedia to get my info.
You should stop listening to propaganda.

Also, golodomor. I don't know what that is... I know a holodomor which was the Ukrainian famine.

My friend, I was not going to convince anyone. Who wants to check - let check. If you do not like what I write, let him read McCain and the "wiki". Or is that so hard to read the "fireside chats" of Franklin D. Roosevelt, for example? Heh-heh.

There was no such thing.

The famine in the USSR was a deliberate policy. The great depression was a policy failure. There's a difference.

Trying to make light of the matter and inflating it with stupid humor doesn't negate reality. It is a cowardly tactic.

Judging by your post, you approval so that in reality Russian, no are eating children, no ride on drunk bears and no tortured Democrats in the cellars of the KGB. It is already well. I agree with you that the U.S. government has not conducted an effective policy (the debtor can not be considered effective). But to say that the Holodomor was a state policy USSR - is nonsense. You may tell us about pull off the scalp in the USSR? By the way, how's the Apaches, Delaware's, Mohicans ...? Heh-heh.

The holodomor was USSR state policy. so were the gulags. the murders. The squads that killed intellectuals who didn't bend to communist ideology. etc.

Oоо, and the Gulag there too. You still remember the false writer Solzhenitsyn. Heh-heh. Do you know that 100% of the Gulag chiefs were Jews? And you know that 90-95%% of the first government of the USSR and the NKVD were Jews? Do you know what the most powerful man in the Soviet Union at that time was Trotsky (Bronstein)? Do you know what the Gulag system created by the direct order of the Jew Trotsky - a Jew Jagoda? Stalin fought with them. Although I should not say all this to you - you're smarter than HG Wells and Charles de Gaulle. Heh-heh.

Stalin didn't fight with them. He just deposed them. Some of the jews who were friends with Trotsky betrayed him and supported Stalin in the party... and then they got the same treatment as many of his former allies.

There was no "good guy" in that paradigm Tovarishka. Only bad people who ate one another... and killed a whole lot of other people.

So...no links, or even references to books?
First of all, YOU made a claim in YOUR original post, it is your job to support it with evidence (including the original sources and context).

Second, I don't think anyone would dispute (even here on DP) that Stalin played a unique role in Russian and world history.
However, none of your links provide more than the usual sweet talk bs, that politicians and politically influenced people spout about each other - note that you haven't provided any documents regarding the army that he managed to build before WWII for instance, nor documents regarding birth rate levels and population growth during the period he ruled in the country...etc.

2) "Falsehood on which spent Billions" - it is not clear? Или требуют изменений наших сердцах? Heh-heh.

Nope - just more bs from your part.

Btw, I speak 3 languages quite fluently and 2 more on a basic level - but now we're on an English speaking forum, so...write in English.
And yes, Zoi is still alive!

3) From a speech on the radio in April 1942 Franklin D. Roosevelt:" Need to always remember that the Russian army consume more manpower and equipment of the enemy than all the other twenty-five states of the Anti-Hitler alliance put together." Now you can laugh

So?!
How it explains that the Red Army and the USSR got themselves to a verge of complete destruction for 2-3 years?
I'll give you a hint, read some information/documents about the red army just before the beginning of WWII (and no Suvorov's books aren't considered as documents).

PS. No rebuttal to the thousands or millions killed, deported or imprisoned?!?... I wonder why.

Fallen.

Well, you seem to care about your credibility, but you don't want to have to work to establish it. So, you try to ridicule those who won't establish it for you by giving them a 'lesson' in how to Google. That's just not how it works "Friend". Whatever. No one should even read your posts at all.

1) Naturally, He just deposed them. How should he deal with maniacs and sadists? 2) The Jews always do. Then it was advantageous to be the Bolsheviks - they were the Bolsheviks (remember - 100% chiefs Gulag - the Jews). Just now advantageous to be "lebiral" and gay - Jewish is liberals and gays. According to this scold of Stalin and the Gulag. Heh-heh. And why you are misrepresenting my nickname? This attempt at humor? Or do you have a strong desire to change my nickname? For example, instead of "Rainman" - take "Rainbowman"? Relax. You're not my type. Heh-heh.

A) I'll help you with Google. Once. The population of the Soviet Union under Stalin rose to 136.8 million in 1920 to 208.8 million in 1959. The overall mortality rate in Russia under Stalin declined by almost 3-fold (10.1 per one thousand inhabitants. In 1950 compared with 29.1 in 1913). At the same time, decreased fertility and 1950 (26.9 per 1 thousand inhabitants. In 1950 and 45.5 - in 1913), due to the effects of the war, with the increasing number of elderly people, the growth of the urban population, the involvement of women in the sphere of production. However, the natural increase of the population even increased slightly to 16.8 people in 1950. per 1000 inhabitants. (16.4 - 1913). Under Stalin, illiteracy was eradicated. The literacy rate has risen to 89.1% (1932). Total volumes of industrial production per capita for 1913-1950 years. in the USSR increased by 4 times. The share of world industrial output in the USSR:
1913 - 3.6%
1920 - 0.6%
1938 - 5.6%
1950 - 6.9%
1986 - 14.6%
The increase in production agricultural products by 1938, up 45% compared to 1913 and 100% compared to 1920. The gold reserve. July 16, 1914 in the storerooms of the State Bank of Russia, there were approximately 1,240 tons of gold. Still about 110 tons stored abroad. Total of about 1350 tons.
In 1914 - 1917 years. listed banks in New York, London, Paris, Japan, about 690 tons of gold in the first payment for the supply of weapons, and then just to make it not got the Bolsheviks. At the 1920 reserves were already 317 tons
By the end of Stalin's reign in 1953 the gold reserves increased by 6.5 times and reached 2,050 tons. Since 1933 unemployment in the Soviet Union did not exist. In 1947, the Soviet Union, the first since the war of the states of the planet, canceled card system. And every year since 1948 - to 1954 - to reduce the price of food and consumer goods. For example, here is the ratio of price levels as of 01/01/51, the cost to the city on 01.01.46: bread (39%), meat (42%). The number of doctors in 1950 increased compared to 1940 by 1.5 times.
The number of researchers in 1950 increased compared to 1940 by 1.5 times.
Number of scientific institutions in 1950 increased by 40% compared to 1940
The number of university students in 1950 increased by 50% compared to 1940.
Since 1946, the Soviet Union had also initiated work:
1) air defense
2) on the Missile Technology;
3) Automation of technological processes;
4) to introduce the latest computer technology (in 1950 created the first computer);
5) in space flight (in 1957 USSR launched the world's first space satellite, in 1961 - the first person);
6) on the gasification of the country;
7) in household appliances, etc.\\\\\ About allegedly repressed the Red Army. May 5, 1940 Chief of Staff of People's Commissariat of Defense, Lieutenant General E.Schadenko presented Stalin, "Report on the Work Management" for 1939 It said that in 1937-1939. 36898 from the ranks of the Red Army commanders were fired. Of these, in 1937, laid off 18,658 people. (13.1% -command officers and political composition), in 1938, laid off 16,362 people. (9.2%), in 1939, laid off 1878 people. (0.7%).
The motives were as follows: 1) age, 2) for health reasons, and 3) of disciplinary and 4) for the frailty 5) dismissed on political grounds 19,106 (including after complaints and inspections conducted in 9247 restored 1938-1939 years.) 6) arrested, that is repressed, it was 9579 people command staff (of which 1457 restored in 1938-1939.).
Thus, the number of officers arrested in the years 1937-1939. (No air force and navy) is 8122 people. (3% of the total command staff to 1939). Of those sentenced to death about 70, shot 17 - which are often the highest, for example, two of the five marshals (Tukhachevskiy for the organization of Trotskyist military conspiracy, Yegorov for participation in espionage, terrorist training and participation in the counter-revolutionary organization), yet One Marshal Blucher was arrested for taking part in the military-fascist conspiracy that led to unnecessary losses and willful failure loch Hasan surgery, but died in prison. About POWs. Another myth that almost all Soviet military liberated from German captivity were sent to the Gulag.
In fact they were held to test the filtration camps liberated from captivity, which was then a necessity. On March 1, 1944 by the NKVD were tested 312,594 former soldiers of the Red Army who were taken prisoner or in the environment. 75.1% of former prisoners successfully tested and who were sent to the army, who in the economy who are on treatment. A further 0.6% died, which is not surprising when you consider the conditions of life in the German concentration camps, where they were released. Were also repressed (arrested or sent to penal battalions) of just 6.2%.
B)How do you smart. Heh-heh.
C) For example here. Причины поражени Краной рмии в первом периоде ВОВ Sorry, but I do not know how else to insert a link.

6) on the gasification of the country;

I"ll write it letter by letter, because you might have a problem with reading/or comprehending English.

2)How do you smart. Heh-heh.
Are you Russian? Becasue judging by the overall level of your posts so far and the level of Russian in that sentence you wrote in your previous post, EG is indeed doing marvelous job in teaching kids - or you just an elderly deluded person?

a. It's a link in Russian - what do you not understand in DP being an English speaking forum?!? This link is useless for 99.9% of the forum.
b. It's a paper written by a student - not a document nor a proper scientific study. However, you can learn from it a bit, like from the bibliography part in the end of this uni. paper.
c. Even your link to a student's paper does a better job in providing sources to showcase your own idiocy; (translated with Google translate)

"3. The reasons for the failure of Soviet troops.
In the first months of the war revealed the serious errors leadership of the country before the war.
The analysis of a wide range of historical literature reveals the following main reasons for the defeat of the Red Army in the early months of World War II:
miscalculations-the top political leadership of the USSR on the timing of Germany's attack;
- Qualitative military superiority of the enemy;
- Delay the strategic deployment of the Soviet Armed Forces on the western borders of the USSR;
- Repression in the Red Army."

or this part;
"3.4 Repression of the Red Army
The mass repressions of the late 30's largely weakened team and officers of the Armed Forces of the USSR, to the beginning of the war approximately 70-75% of commanders and political officers were at their posts not more than one year.

According to the calculations of modern researchers of the war only in 1937-1938. were arrested more than 40 thousand officers of the Red Army and the Soviet Navy, including more than 9 thousands people of higher and senior officers, ie about 60-70%."

So where is the genius of Stalin's leadership?!? No adequate army, no adequate military leadership because they were repressed, so on and on... it even contradicts your wall of bs in the first part of your post.

EDIT: And this part is just priceless :lamo;
"Conclusion;
The defeat of the Red Army in the initial period of the Great Patriotic War, explained a whole set of political, economic, professional, historical, psychological, and other factors. The huge loss of human and material resources can not be explained artificially imposed thesis surprise attack, an advantage or superiority of German arms in the strategy and tactics of the German troops. The main reason for the political defeat is extremely ignorant militarily the Soviet government headed by JV Stalin, which failed on the basis of the maximum credible information on the basis of complete data to evaluate the nature of the war of 1939-1941, and to make appropriate adjustments to the plans for the strategic deployment of forces and means the Red Army."
