Yes, the bolshevik movement was heavily supported by the jewish community. And yes, Lenin was a jew and most of the first politburo were jews. I cannot say that all the gulag leaders were jews, I have no such information and I doubt that it is true. And yes, the first gulags were made by Lenin to hold aristocrats, noblemen, political enemies or just random people who didn't really fit in the communist ideal. This is true. But this is not the topic.

This is not about the first politburo or if you will, the first commisariat of the people, half of which was executed by Stalin during the great purge of the late 1930s. Half died before that or escaped.

You cannot possibly paint Stalin as the good guy because he killed those guys. He didn't do it to avenge the russian people who suffered at the hands of the people's commissariat. he did it to consolidate his power. Just like he killed everybody who had suspicions about. He killed his old georgian comrades. he killed everybody indiscriminately whom, in his paranoia, suspected of anything. Or didn't suspect at all but was just too popular or too much loved by the people. Stalin took all the crimes Lenin and friends did and expanded upon them massively. Just massively.

He was a monster. A real life monster. Worse than hitler since he survived Hitler and defeated him. The bigger evil eating the big evil.

I do not think he is Russian.

He didn't know that Tovarishka, a petname I gave him, is not a feminine version of Tovarish.
Women generally have a -(n)ova attached to the end of their name. So tovariska is not a feminine name.

I'm trying to figure out whether he is Russian, not because I really care about him or his identity, but because I care about the image of Russians and Russia here on DP.

PS. Judging by a sentence he wrote to me in Russian few posts back he/she is indeed probably not Russian.

No it's not. At least this is what I was taught by a russian lady some time ago.

My guess is that he is either American or from western europe... prolly Spain, Italy or UK. I don't think he is Eastern European, especially Polish, Ukrainian, Moldavian/Romanian or German.

EDIT: Well, he isnt' representative of the russian community, just himself.
EDIT2: I know german is not eastern European, I mean from Eastern Germany.

Nonsense. The first chief of the Soviet secret police was Felix Dzerzhinsky - a Polish aristocrat. And most of my relatives were executed under Dzerzhinsky, Yezhov (a Russian) and Beria (a Georgian, like Stalin).

In any case, it is preposterous to suggest that the executioners carrying out explicit orders are culpable, but the person who issued those orders is not.

Dzerzhinsky died July 20, 1926 (48 years), Moscow, USSR. In 1926, - civil war in middle Asia. Gulag founded later - Jagoda. Jagoda - head of the NKVD until 1938. He was killed March 15, 1938. In early 1939 was rehabilitation of the victims of Trotsky, Jagoda... terror.(I not can give the link. It prohibits news from Russia.)
 
All arguments against Stalin is - "Stalin was a tyrant." All. I find it funny. You are doubt that space program began under Stalin? Or doubt that in 1947 canceled the card on the products? Can you doubt that the Under Stalin, illiteracy was eradicated? I wonder what the first artificial satellite was launched by Russia, and the first person to fly in space - Russian (Yuri Gagarin) do you believe? Or do you need a reference to the English language? Prisoner often released before the end of sentence ( foto 1 - certificate of release).
