Republican comments on Health Care

I'm so getting tired of the lies being propagated from elected officials. It's so obvious what they are up to and it really does sadden me that they are not entering into the debate in a more fact based manner. Also, some Republicans are just laying down their jobs and deciding to be intransigent based on nothing. If these were dems, I would be e-mailing them letters every hour on the hour. I just don't understand how these people can sleep at night. In fact, the Insurance Companies have started to outright lie as well.

Huckabee: Kennedy Would have been Urged to Die under Obamacare

Insurance Company sends out letter to constituents full of propaganda.

GOP Fundraising Survey full of Lies

Inhofe admits he’ll vote against health care bill without even reading it

Mike Enzi, Gang Of Six Republican, Admits He's Simply Blocking Health Care Reform

I really am not trying to be partisan here. I've read the portions of the bill that these claims are based on and they are completely false. I just don't understand how people can say these things and others buy it hook, line and sinker.

Defeat leaving a bitter taste in your mouth?

Sorry, but at the end of the day; I know you couldn't care less about these lies if they had come from the White House.

Unless your hiding the links of the various lies the statists have aired over the last few days, under my nose?

For what purpose? You clearly already have your mind made up - you took some posts from a few various left-of-Hitler crazy sites and a solitary story from Politico... Then expect, what? Someone to argue with you pointlessly for the afternoon?

Anyone who takes their opinions from Huffington, you already know, is not worth the time.

They can't address the stories. There are plenty of good arguments to be made against the health care reform bills in congress. However, they are rather long and nuanced. Unfortunately for Republicans, they are not good at intellectual honesty and nuance even when an argument might be in their favor. So what they have to resort to is lies and fear mongering.

Now that's the truth. Scary isn't it? Republicans/Demorcrats/Indies should all be able to discuss policy without resorting to lies. It really bothers me when either side does it. I feel bad for people that don't take the time to look at the information closely and make their minds up for themselves. They are really handed a pile of steaming crap too often.

Yes, but they could be and unfortunately, they have created a culture within there party that has attracted people who refuse to express said honesty. It really hurts our nation when there are not proper and honest dialogues amongst all the positions.

Unfortunately special interests who decide the future of our nation, do a great job dividing us.They create an atmosphere where no one is respected and no view no matter how well researched heard unless it confirms your preexisting postion. A postion hammered home by your hannity, your Michael moore, your Moveon, etc. divide and conquer is the name of the game. Pragmatism and patriotism have been raped.

Re: Republican comments on Health Care

Holy crap! Do you honestly have nothing useful to contribute to the debate but pointing fingers (badly)?

Then why don't you offer any honest dialogue instead of this crap which I now have to pick appart (most of it).

#1) Huckabee: Apparently, like the headline writer, you didn't actually read Huckabee's quote.

Quote:
"[I]t was President Obama himself who suggested that seniors who don't have as long to live might want to consider just taking a pain pill instead of getting an expensive operation to cure them," said Huckabee. "Yet when Sen. Kennedy was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer at 77, did he give up on life and go home to take pain pills and die? Of course not. He freely did what most of us would do. He choose an expensive operation and painful follow up treatments. He saw his work as vitally important and so he fought for every minute he could stay on this earth doing it. He would be a very fortunate man if his heroic last few months were what future generations remember him most for."
Where in there does he say anything akin to the articles headline? You really want to point your finger at the "lying" Republicans when you're relying on a source that has to add words to a quote to make a headline?

#2) The WellPoint letter points out three facts that neither you nor the article attempt to refute. Care to take a crack at actually debating these three points? Bring your 'A' game.

#3) Stupid fundraising stunts. Yes it's stupid, yes everyone does it, no that doesn't make it right. How is highlighting this helping the debate? If you were interested in debate you would be refuting at least the one obviously erroneous assertion.

#4) Inhofe is an idiot if he follows up on his claim. Please don't pretend that Democrats are any better.

#5) Surprise, HuffPo has to add words to quotes in order to make up another title. At no point in any of his quotations does Congressman Enzi make such a claim. Given the steaming pile of crap that is the bill in progress at the Finance Committee, I'm gald there's someone fighting for "what I get them to leave out".

If you are really interested in having a substantive debate on the issues, choose any of the threads here where we do just that. Don't bring up this trash and then whine about the lack of debate.
