A guy showed me his reciept and it was $110.00 for 8 cartons of butts including shipping from the Post Office.

All the extra taxes put on butts by our Gov and States will cause them to lose much tax money while smokers still light up.
-
REMEMBER this: Without the taxes from butts and liquor our Gov and States will fold up. | Holy Crap! A single pack of smokes here in Chicago is at least $7. What state are you in?
I agree on the government losing money from the taxes. I quit a 3 pack a day habit in May... If a pack costs $1.20 untaxed, They've lost over $1500 in taxes off me alone from quitting. If I had been able to buy those smokes on a reservation (not many near here that I know of) they STILL would have lost $1500 but I would have only spent $324! |

Nowadays, we do like to indulge in a Sam's Club hot dog and soda about once a week. We don't do burgers much anymore, but a good chicken sandwich and fries at Wendy's about once or twice a month is on our menu.
And about once a month lunch somewhere nicer than fast food with friends. Have you ever asked directions to someplace and the person you asked uses fast food resturaunts as landmarks? | Exactly! You have no idea how much money we save by eating in most nights.
I don't recall that happening to me (using fast food places as landmarks). What's funny is that I am so oblivious to fast food places (most of them) that if someone said, "Over there by the McDonalds?," I doubt I could confirm that. (I do know where Popeyes is, though. ) |

..and then taking the leftovers for lunch the next day. I don't understand how some people eat out all the time.
As far as LA banning fast food places, I am against that as I don't like government tellings us what we can and cannot do. I was pissed yesterday beause my brothers told me they were going to build a huge waterpark the next town over but the city council denied the builders a permit because those 6 guys in the city council didn't want a water park in that city. I am so sick of people abusing their power to inject upon the public their personal preferences. I hope LA takes all those people out of office and puts some people with some balls in. We need our freedom, that's what this country is founded on and as long as something is legal, we do not need the government to take it away!! |

It causes Erectile Disfunction to show up in men many years earlier than it would had they not smoked.
But for women, men like to do women who smoke, especially when they have those coughing fits while doing the freaky.

That, and what people spend on Starbucks and such for coffee. I have done an informal poll, and found that the average person spends $5.00 a day minimum at Starbucks. That's $25 a week. $100 a month. $1,200 a year. On coffee alone. Many of those people spent money on muffins/scones too, increasing their cost, and most of these people polled were kids. Adults, I read once, spent $10 a day at Starbucks.
We drink tea or homeground coffee if we need it.

R.I. Where a pack of butts goes from $5.00-$7.00.
He bought the smokes from BigJoes Smoke Shop in up state N.Y
I don't remember the brand but they were $12.00 per carton plus shipping. The slip showed he bought 8 cartons.

Saving money while taking it out of your hide by cooking most nights is just a trade off.
There are many working couples and to expect the woman or man to come home after working 8 hours and cook a meal is unrealistic nowadays anyway.
-
My wife cooks a Sunday meal only. Its church, breakfast out and home for a Sunday meal.
There are many fine restraunts that will serve the same home made meals as cooked at home.
-
I came from a kind of wealthy family but my wife is loaded so for us anyway its out to eat but not to Micky D's. Well maybe sometimes when I am out and wanting something to go for the road. |
