It has to be total. The negative effects that can occur from partial bans demonstrate that

I have a terrible fear of mass transit related drunk death, I'm afraid I'm going to fall off an el platform in a fit of drunken exuberance.

Thats the nice thing about Wisconsin. There is always a bar within walking distance, even in the boonies. I grew up for 7 years in a town of 175 people. 5 bars.

Ain't that the truth. In Milwaukee there is at least two on just about every intersection.

are they...nice? there are sections in Philadelphia where there are 5 bars per 175 people...

They all open up at 7AM and are usually between check cashing places and gun stores...

Most are neighborhood bars. Downtown Milwaukee has a lot of clubs of course, and they are not so abundant.

I don't think you'd enjoy them so much. They aren't really city-like bars. Well Madison and Milwaukee bars are, but once you get closer to the northwoods, the culture changes. But who knows, the Illinois people that treat our state like a campground seem to enjoy them just fine.

no, i mean are they really ghetto? in my experience areas with tons and tons of bars are usually economically depressed.
