Not saying college girls don't get raped, but 1 in 4 is an unbelieveably highy number.

But, I'm simply going by what I know has happened to female friends of mine and how many actually reported it. (in my own personal circle, 50% of my female friends have been raped. 0% reported it)

However, I did end up at a frat house party at University of Arizona, when I was in the service. There were some drunk *** girls there that were probably going to be taken advantage of later. I don't know if I would qualify that as rape though.
I guess I consider rape to be a man violently forcing himself on a woman, when she has made clear that she does not want to have sex. I guess I just don't know any guys who would actually do that. |

I guess I just don't know any guys who would actually do that. | I'm not referring to getting drunk and regretting having sex. I don't consider that rape either. I consider it rape when a person FORCES another person to have sex, and that doesn't necessarily have to be violent. In my case, I was drugged by my rapists to the point that I was physically unable to resist them - though I was able to speak a little, but only meekly. (I was practically paralyzed) While it wasn't violent, it was still very much a rape.
So, when people say "date rape", I don't think of a woman waking up and regretting her previous night's decision. I think of a man not accepting "no", or drugging his date, etc. Date rape simply means that the woman was willingly with the man in a specific situation - that she knew him. But going to a bar with a man doesn't mean you agree to sex, as I'm sure I don't need to tell you.
Also, I consider it rape if the woman is drunk/drugged off her *** and is passed out and the man has sex with her. Or, if she is too drunk/drugged to even engage in sex or forcefully say "no". She may be conscious, but physically unable to really DO anything. It may not be violent, but it's still rape. |

Drunken situations can be a little different, in that both parties are usually drunk and both have perceptions that might differ. In a situation with my wife, we were both drunk after a wedding and I woke up and wanted some action about 3 in the morning. So I gently touched and stroked her the way I would if I were going to have sex with her, and after a bit her body responded to me in a way that told me we were a go. Shortly thereafter my wife woke up and was like "What the hell are you doing" |
