Brain Studies Highlight Importance of Anti-Poverty Policies for Children

All this study may have done is confirm that those who inherit less gray matter are dumber than those who don't, and therefore end up in the poorest strata of society (and the poor pass along this disadvantage from generation to generation). Moreover, it may also prove that the more intelligent poor are the ones who are at least smart enough to get on and use food stamps, compared to the least intelligent.

The author seems to have confused correlation with causation.
