Now what do you think about BO and his team.....even they were thinking of doing the same thing that these Governors did. Officials were commenting about it. Both Christie and Cuomo pushed back that the Fed doesn't go far enough to ensure the safety of their citizens. Also now this Nurse who was the First to be quarantined like this. Wants to bring a legal Challenge. What say ye?

The Obama administration has been pushing the governors of New York and New Jersey to reverse their decision ordering all medical workers returning from West Africa who had contact with Ebola patients to be quarantined, an administration official said on Sunday. But both governors, Andrew M. Cuomo of New York and Chris Christie of New Jersey, stood by their decision, saying that the federal guidelines did not go far enough.

The rapidly escalating events played out both privately, in intense negotiations and phone calls between federal and state officials, as well as publicly in Ms. Hickox’s pointed criticism of the New Jersey governor. Ever since Mr. Cuomo, a Democrat, and Mr. Christie, a Republican, announced the plan at a hastily called news conference on Friday evening, top administration officials have been speaking with Mr. Cuomo daily and have also been in touch with Mr. Christie, trying to get them to rescind the order.

But in that time, two more states – Illinois and Florida – announced that they were instituting similar policies.....snip~

I'm fine with the quarantines as long as those being quarantined are treated VERY well. The last thing we want to do is discourage medical professionals from fighting the disease.

Hearye hearye.....after a long night of phone calls from Obama and his Team. The New York Governor has caved on The Mandatory Quarantine for NeW York. Just couldn't show any backbone and stand by his own damn words and thoughts. Caves due to politics.

Christie refuses to cave but did get a Call from BO peep as well. Got to give Christie credit this time. Moreover his comments on Fox New Sunday with Chris Wallace showed not only was he Right. But it actually sounded like a Leader was speaking.

Every single person who is unnessecarily quartenined should sue the hell outta whatever govt entity did it. It is known if you are asymptomatic you cannot spread ebola, and even then it is by direct contact with bodily fluids.

Okay, and every single person that causes other people to be placed under investigation. Or gives the disease to another. Should be Sued and their livelihood destroyed. To include medical people who can't use their brains to think with common sense.

It isn't known....and not even for the First 3 days.

Moreover the WHO already reported that with some it has been 42 days and then they became infected. Also now there is an International Study that disputes the CDC and what they have to say about the 21 day Quarantine. Notice how.....they went specifically at the CDC and not the WHO. Might be a clue as to the CDC.....can't just ignore their study.

Ebola is spread by body fluids after a person becomes symptomatic. Any govt agency quarentining people known to be noncontagious deserves what it gets. Which will be sued silly.

Can they tell if one has the disease even after they showed negative in the first 3 days......yes or no?

Have people been infected after the 21 day Quarantine period.....Yes or no?

How did the NBC cameraman get the disease? Himself and witness state.....he was never around anyone infected. Nor did he handle anything an infected person touched. How did he get the disease?

What happened.....no fluids and not around anyone infected?

Dude... What the hell are you talking about...

The 42 day thing was about declaring a country ebola free.

They even state on their own website 42 days is "twice the incubation period of ebola" and that they use active case finding for those 42 days to secure confidence in the idea that the country really is Ebola free.

If you are asymptomatic you are not contagious. The only ethical reason to quarentine someone is if they are a risk to spread disease. The only reson any of them are doing it is political expidence.

I will use this topic for years when I point out RWers refusal to look at science and just go hysterical for no reason. It almost like they are anti-science. Oh, wait...

Again.....have people been infected after the 21 day quarantine? Yes or No!

Now lets show how that works.....a person under quarantine for 21 days is released saying they didn't have the disease. They are then discovered to have the disease after being cleared for 21 days. Got that.....its not to hard to follow is it?

Now did people get the disease and infect others?

The point is when they are contagious. Your logic below is...not logical.

Really  .....then why does the WHO say that 5-10% of people become infected after the 21 day incubation period and that it has even been 42 days and then with people becoming infected. Still can't figure out about what the CDC is being challenged on....huh?

Seems your common sense is lacking with the logic.

Thanks for showing all how you can't answer those questions. Which you already know what you have to answer with. ;)

If you are asymptomatic you are not contagious. I am not quite sure what you mean by "become infected" are you talking about another exposure?

You are not sure what it means to become infected????? What do you think the words, "become infected" could possibly mean?

Here.....now lets examine what the CDC says. What is the CDC saying here? Explain this out, for ALL here at DP!

In the very early stages of Ebola, patients may still test negative because the virus has not yet reached detectable levels in the blood. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says it may take up to three days after the onset of symptoms for the virus to reach detectable levels in some patients, prompting repeat testing in some cases.....snip~

Still confused?

Really? You need to take at least one micro course before you start explaining stuff to peopel. You become infected with the virus enters the body. Just because it has not reached detectable levels or you are not symptomatic does not mean you are not infected.

What say I? I want to hear Andrew Cuomo telling Obama to go stuff it. As he should do. Obama should let the governors do what works for their states. Cuomo made a good decision, as did Christie, and it pains me to admit that either of these men are good decision makers.

Their states, their right. They were elected to protect their respective states, not be subservient to Barack Obama.

It's science, not politics.

They also say this .....

However, some incubation periods are longer - that WHO said that in 95 percent of cases the incubation period was between one and 21 days. In 98 percent it was no longer than 42 days......snip~

What happened? Are there some incubation periods that take longer? Up to 42 days......that a person could be infected, Right? What does it mean by there some incubation periods that are longer? You do know that means longer than the 21 days, don't you? Or were you confused about that?

Just how did you miss this part and why wouldn't you show this? What went wrong? Anymore confusion upon your part?

Why are you so cocky about something you obviously know so little about. Just talk like a normal person and maybe we all might learn something.

So now go back and re-read where you jumped in and I used the term. This way you wont be able to deflect. Nor go on some tangent about how you didn't understand the term become infected.

Again if they test in 3 days and say negative......can they still come down with the disease. Yes or no?

Why can't you admit to what the CDC and WHO is saying about testing and putting people in quarantine. Again, Do you Deny they state, there are longer incubation times?

you can be infected for 3 days, but the virus is not at a high enough level to detect. You dont understand the terminology you are using so it is difficult to discuss the subject with you.
