Averages for Bronze to Platinum plans.

Aetna $240

Blue cross/shield $264

Cigna $314

Health net $240

Meritus PPO $334

And you payments are capped at 2 or 4% OF your pay..............so no matter what they are, its AFFORDABLE!!!

Screw you GOP...........be glad your "insurnace" still exists. Hopefully it will soon be banned.

Figure you costs here.

http://kff.org/interactive/subsidy-calculator/

And remember, the "tax credit" is paid directly to the insurer, and immediatly. So you dont have to pay all that cash up front like
most "tax credits".

1st, is that 2-4% of your pay monthly? Or annual?

2nd, your link will not represent AZ directly so is worthless for this thread.

One more thing....

I will not be coerced into getting insurance that I do not want and will take MORE money from my pocket that I cannot afford. On our last check (on the 10th and 11th respectively) put roughly $1100 in our bank account. Today we have $24. We cannot afford ANY health insurance unless it is free. And combined we make too much for that.

Oh happy day! The "preventive care" visits that normally cost $100 out of pocket a few times a year are now going to cost several hundred dollars per month (also out of pocket), every month, in perpetuity. Good going democrats. Thanks for making insurance companies richer at my expense.

GOP math skills.

2% of monthly pay is DIFFERENT than 2% of yearly pay.......(snicker)

My link works for every state in the nation.........

Your premium will be $104 month. (silver plan) Looks like you need to get rid of some bills. Tell you Land lord t o take "x" or your leaving.........
based on........
2 people ("our" you said)
no kids
35
non smokers.

And LOOK AT THIS............

"For example, you could enroll in a Bronze plan for about $0 per year (which is 0% of your household income). By enrolling in a Bronze plan, you would receive $6,114 in subsidies, which would cover the entire amount of your Bronze premium. "

Looks like OBAMACARE is your friend............

I ran the model in thehOP's link. me and my wife, I selected the no employer just to see what it would calculate.

what it calculated was:
Because your income is more than 4 times the poverty level, you would not qualify for subsidized exchange coverage. The information below is about unsubsidized exchange coverage.

Unsubsidized annual health insurance premium in 2014: $17,342

I am glad I have health insurance with my retirement. We do pay about $250/month insurance payment. Even with copays and out of pocket max to be met. It is far cheaper than the 17,342 that the Obamacare estimator said it would cost.

No thanks Obamacare.

LMAO yeah...tell my landlord that huh? Like it is SOOOOO easy to just pick up and move to another rental right? Not to mention people have far more bills than simply rent.

When I said "our" I was refering to my wifes checks and my checks. That particular "our" did not include the whole household.

Me and you have been over this already. Your link does NOT include every single state as each and all states subsidies offered will vary. And then there is this...from your link...

Additionally, states have the option to expand their Medicaid programs to cover all people making up to 138% of the federal poverty level (which is about $33,000 for a family of four). In states that opt out of expanding Medicaid, some people making below this amount will still be eligible for Medicaid, some will be eligible for subsidized coverage through Marketplaces, and others will not be eligible for subsidies.

Note the words "some" and "others will not be eligible". Despite what you may think not everyone will have health insurance due to Obamacare.

There is something you should think about also. A subsidy is worthless until tax season when the common person will receive it. In otherwords a subsidy will not help ANYONE until it is recieved. Until they do receive it then paying for that insurance has to come directly from that persons pocket. A fat lot of good that is going to do them when they get behind on their bills. By the time they do get the subsidy they'll have to use that same subsidy just to catch up on their bills just so that they won't get kicked out into the streets. And then because of that the whole process happens again. Year after year. And this is assuming that you get enough of a subsidy to pay for your entire monthly health insurance bill. Which comparitively speaking will happen to a minority of people. Most people will not get that much of a subsidy. And those people will be in a growing hole that they cannot get out of.

Not in this case. These are advanceable tax credits, meaning they're available upfront to offset the costs of the insurance policy at the time of purchase.

Yes it is easy to move. Better yet by an RV. Then you can "move" in 15 min............

Yes the subsidys are the same in every state. its called Federal law. The Same in every state.

the subsidy is paid directly to the insurer. it is not like the normal worthless "tax credit" that does not pay for a year or more. (per several sources)
All the person has to come up with is his portion of the payment.

"Based on the information provided to the exchange and his or her income, the individual will receive a premium assistance credit. Treasury will pay the premium assistance credit amount directly to the insurance plan in which the individual is enrolled. The individual will then pay to the plan in which he or she is enrolled the dollar difference between the premium tax credit amount and the total premium charged for the plan."

from Tax Provisions in the Health Care Act

The only real people that will not be covered are those that are in non-medicaid expansion states that make nothing or less than $10k.
They can simply move or get a mail box in a expanded state............as for the rich that dont get a subsidy.............SCREW THEM.

:lamo I can't even afford to move and you want me buy and to move my family and live in an RV? And no, it is not easy to move into another rental. First, last and deposit. Have to have that before one can even think of moving.

1: Did you not read what I quoted directly from your link? Read it again and pay attention to what I bolded.

2: You still haven't told me how I can afford insurance on $24. I'm not guaranteed a subsidy, much less a subsidy that will fully pay for my insurance. And no smart person attempts to pay for something like this when they are not gaurunteed to be re-imbursed for it. As the old saying goes "Plan for the worse, hope for the best". Planing will get you somewhere, hopeing won't.

I just ran the calculator for a husband/wife who make $75K between them; nonsmokers. The premium for the Silver Plan came to $11,000 -- no subsidies available. With the Silver Plan, the insurance will pay for 70% of healthcare bills with the policyholder being responsible for the other 30%.

I can't imagine why you're so thrilled.

Because she can only see the word "subsidy" which to her means that the Government will pay for it. She does not take into account whether someone actually gets the subsidy or not. She does not consider how much of a subsidy a person will get...or if they even qualify for it. And she does not take into account how much a person makes vs their bills and the added cost of health insurance.

Why pay all that BS? Tell them you will give them a $250 deposit, and thats it. And they will pay interest. Lots of people are renting rooms in homes. I just saw a massive complex open up with $300 rent
for all units. You have the power to negociate. they dont like it, there are plenty of other places to live in a collapsed home market.
there are also plenty of people willing to help and "rent" you there pickup for a weekend. I rented a huge box truck for $45 for a day. (but only 10miles)

Yes you are guaranteed a subsidy. Only the rich dont get subsidys. Only way your not getting HC is if you make less than $10k (single) in a non-expansion state.

How about you read my last post. They pay $330 month, you pay $30. (example) thats it. SIMPLE.

According to 274ina, $75K/year is mega rich, so he'll say "screw 'em".

They are rich. As far as I am concerned, TFB for them.

And it is only 14% of thier pay, and consdiering the cost of living, they can easly afford a luxury apt. $12,000 year, food etc, and that $11,000 a year.

And they will also get
no dumping
out of pocket max
and all the other beni's of Obamacare.

More correctly just "rich".

Mega rich is $365 million a year. the average pay of the Mega Rich.

^^^ And HERE is a sample of the typical voter mentality: "TFB for everybody else."

I put in the numbers i had from when i was just an employee... and it say i get nothing for subsidies.

the good news for liberals is... now that i'm an employers that offers a "Cadillac plan".. i'll be forced to downgrade our coverage or be subject to a hefty tax fine for not doing so.

typical lefties, always shooting for universal mediocrity and punishing folks who won't settle for inferiority.

You have never tried to rent a place when you're piss poor have you?

What the hell good is a pick up going to do me? To move? I have to find a place to move to first...and afford it. Not that I need it. I own a van which works great for moving short distances in.

Yes you are guaranteed a subsidy. Only the rich dont get subsidys. Only way your not getting HC is if you make less than $10k (single) in a non-expansion state.

No, you are not. And what do you call "rich"? Maggie showed that. 75k is not rich.

How about you read my last post. They pay $330 month, you pay $30. (example) thats it. SIMPLE.

How am I going to pay $30 when I only have $24? Do you NOT see the delima here?

Mega rich is $365 million a year. the average pay of the Mega Rich.

So $75,000/year is rich, and $365, 000, 000/year is mega rich?

I agree that $365, 000, 000/year is mega rich, but where do you live that you think $75, 000/year is rich?

^^^ And HERE is a sample of the typical voter mentality: "TFB for everybody else."

it could be worse, they could lie and pretend to care about everyone else.... at least this one is being up front about not giving a **** about anyone else but themselves.

I agree that $365, 000, 000/year is mega rich, but where do you live that you think $75, 000/year is rich?

when you live in an RV , squat on public land, and don't hold a job... 50 bucks is rich.
