I read in the latest Bloomberg Businessweek issue the ATF will go after you if you claim you smoked dope even if you live where it is legal. Anyone have any info on this?

So don't claim that. Solved.
Federal government doesn't want an armed populace.
You don't have to put down if you drink beers when you buy a guy, so for states where it is legal, they shouldn't ask either. But there's still the federal law, even though it's not really enforced, and they'll use that to excuse their power grab. That's probably going to be one of the biggest hurdles to revoking the federal law, it's such a convenient excuse for the Fed to expand power.
alcoholics shouldn't be able to own guns. sorry.
Actually the question is asked " Are you an unlawful user of, or addicted to, marijuana or any depressant, stimulant, narcotic drug, or any other controlled substance?" If you are in a state where Marijuana is legal the lawful answer is 'no'Federal government doesn't want an armed populace.

That doesn't sound right; got a link?
Add in the people who are on mind altering drugs...either street or pharmacy, and you should be able to get the number of people allowed to have guns down to 40% or so.
That is the goal right?
What ever argument that works to support your hostility towards guns.
Where that argument sits on the Fantasy/Reality scale being irrelevant to you of course.
AMIRITE?

As of 2 days ago, that wasn't in effect. I imagine if the verbiage is the same most will still answer the question no based on the word unlawful. I suspect this will be something that will be addressed the first time someone is denied their right due to 'legal/illegal' use.

I own more guns than you do, squirt.

someone who drinks more than you.
Then you are committing a crime by lying on a federal form.
Personally I would trust a someone stoned with a gun over a drunk any day.
I really can't find the words to express how much I disagree with that statement.
Which one?
