will we see cheaper ammo and firearms?

One of the best and biggest ammo sellers is 10 minutes from my house right off Interstate 75 called AIMSURPLUS. One of their managers also was a trap mechanic at a gun club I belong to and educated me about his business in 2007 and since then I have done thousands of dollars of business with them-mainly russian 9mm, 223, a few firearms, several scopes, match triggers, safety stuff (glasses and hearing protection) cleaning supplies etc. well in late October I placed an order for a case of 545x39 and I always pick it up to save the 20 dollars or so delivery-at this time AIM was more like a 25 minute drive and I was busy at work and couldn't get there until the wednesday after Obama won.

I get there at there are at least 50 empty pallets stacked up (the AIM warehouse looked like one of those drive through pony kegs where you pick up a few cases of pop or beer) next to the front entrance. I go to the office, tell them that I was here to get my case of ammo and they sent me to the attached warehouse. And I asked the clerk what was on the pallets.

762x39

I said how much-

He said lots-cannot tell you but this last few days has been our best YEAR.

I said WHAT?

He said they sold more of that stuff in the few days before the election and the day of and the day after the election, then they had for the entire year in 2011. a two month supply of 762x39 (AK ammo for those who don't know) was completely sold out in two days
AIM is the place, i bought from them before

I have Cor-bon and Federal Hydrashok for my .45 ACP for defensive rounds. If it's just for shooting at the range then I use reloads- brand is secondary so its way cheaper.

lead reloads are more accurate and far easier on the barrel.

Obama was the best possible thing that could of happened to my gun collection. His economy put a lot of folks out of a job in my area. They sold guns they paid way too much for at a price too low to pass up usually got hundreds of rounds for cents on the dollar with the deals.

If Hillary had won I had a few AR's I had planed to sell off at triple my buying price. With Trump I will have to settle for double.

Its like any other investment buy low sale high.

I don't mind mining idiots, stupid comes with a price tag.

Looking at the number of folks who voted for either Trump or Hillary in the primaries it seems this country has a surplus of stupid. That stupid may just pay for my vacation.

i have been getting my normal emails for ammo and firearms, however the prices have been slashed today i can buy 50 rounds of 9mm Fiocchi [which i like a lot] for 9.95 and Sellier & Bellot .45acp for 14.95.

did many of these companies i buy from lay in big supplies of ammo to sell at higher prices if Hillary won, but now find they have to sell it for a lower price since the DON! won the election?

My guess is yes....guns and ammo were stocked up and now there is a glut. Ammo supplies are the best I've seen in 3 years.
I'm waiting until near or after Christmas to see if they have a fire sale.
I've seen the Taurus Slim 9mm down to $198 and the Ruger LC9s down to $299.

I think it will level off, but I will tell you that if what I have seen is any indication, you can expect some GREAT deals on firearms for Christmas this year. Several of our local dealers have been stocking up on AR platforms, especially the S&W, Black Ice (a local small arms manufacturer), DPMS, and Del-Ton. They also have a ton of defensive shotguns in and crates of 22LRs. I think they had been anticipating a HRC presidential victory and another buying frenzy.

Or the demographics of the people stocking up on guns will change.

Trump'''s Victory Has Fearful Minorities Buying Up Guns - NBC News

Post election, minorities are waking up to the value of gun rights

I have two very liberal friends who have always been very anti-gun. After this election they are both talking about getting a handgun.

While I support gun ownership it is a fact that fear increases sales. Which demographic groups are fearful will change over time, however.
Im curious just what your very liberal friends are fearful of.

I hope so... prices have gone up so much since the 90s it is crazy.

Geesh...even more since the 80s.

I could buy a S&W 686 almost anywhere for $360. Had a chance to buy 2 new Colt 1911 .45s in 1985 for $210. Already had two and passed them up.
Paid $100 in the 70s for an original 1944 M1 Carbine, in excellent condition.

Did you know, that in the early 80s, you could buy a fine S&W revolver, in any particular model or barrel length, nickle or blued, all for the same price? Example: all Model 19s were the same price, no matter what the barrel length or material. I'm really partial to the 5 inch barrels, for balance. Not sure if you can even buy one today, in that length.

I could go on, but the price of guns today, especially fine revolvers, seems really high.

Does not matter.

I do not think a liberal has enough common sense to actually practice with their gun.
They will buy some ammo, stick it someplace, and forget about it until they need it.
...and then miss some very easy shots when it counts.

THIS IS A FACT: I knew a lady and her Aussie husband who on after 9/11, went out and bought 500 rounds.

...500 rounds for their .380 belly gun.
It was not to practice with, but to defend themselves from the hordes of Arabs that might invade.

Yeah, right!

Agreed. I got some .22s yesterday for $2.19 a box.

Me too.

Yeah, right!

The ones who buy belly guns with lasers, crack me up...

the big discounts (locally and on the Net-I get emails daily from PSA, Gamaliel, Midway, Natchez, and Brownells)

1) AR 15 mags and other parts like lower parts kits

2) AR 15s themselves and AR 15 lowers

3) some ammo-especially 9mm and 556mm NATO/.223 Remington (AR 15 ammo)

4) some police style handguns-SW M&P 9mm for example

Hmmm....I have been looking for a .22LR AR upper. maybe now is the time.

no, I don't need that ammo. I also never bought any high priced .22 rimfire

me neither. I refused the overpriced .22 on moral grounds.

conversely, I DID get a couple good deals on two Remmy 550-1 rifles.

If it was not "tactical", it could be had at a decent price.

true because it doesn't have the high demand that the 9mm does but its a high volume production round because of the military and many police agencies. And unlike 9mm the vast majority of serious 45 shooters don't use factory loads, I have hundreds of thousands of rounds through a 45 and the only factory rounds I have shot were

2) a few hundred when I first started shooting a 45

3) testing remanufactured rounds for a friend who started what is now a major league remanufacturing ammo business (9 million rounds last year)

4) or shooting some full auto rigs (Thompson and a M3 GG) where I wouldn't use lead

however, hand loaded ammo (for IPSC Major 200 Grain SWC with 5.6 grains of 231) is what I have shot for years. its more accurate kicks less and is far easier on the barrel than jacketed. My Wilson comp gun has had over 100K rounds through it and it still holds 2.5" at 50 yards out of a rest.

most people who shoot 9mm shoot factory. I load 9mm (like 12,000 to 15,000 a year) but I am a rarity. 95% of the shooters are using factory

Thanks. I will try this as well.

You think .22 caliber ammo will be available again at local stores?

Is there still a shortage in Virginia???

Well I would bet I shoot far more than you do, and have been doing so for over 4 decades.

Not a fact. Every Lib I know but one owns several firearms and all of them shoot on a fairly regular basis. I can make the same claim you did about some Cons, it has little to do with political leanings.

500 rounds per handgun and 1500 rounds per rifle is our Basic load, meaning that amount is always in stock for each, why I have two ammo safes full plus some for practice and hunting purposes. I will never be caught in another ammo "shortage" again and most of our friends have learned the same lesson and stocked up.
