"Good kids" don't go busting into other people's property with a mask on and get in a shootout with the owner.

Good kid? Who do these adults think they're fooling when they peddle that malarkey in instances such as this? Drives me crazy. Stop making the kid look like something he's obviously not!
 
Maybe the kid was good at school and that was how they knew him. Some people have different personalities in different situations. He certainly wasn't a good kid that day.

well since some-especially those who have been robbed at gun point-think the only good robber is a dead robber, the boy might have achieved "good status" after the intended victim mobzambiqued his sorry ass
 
As far as I am concerned you should lose all your rights the second you break into another man's home. Great kid my ass, he was a Thug and good riddance.

Johnson was such a “great kid” that he committed armed robbery and shot a man during a home invasion while pretending to be a police officer.

seriously, many of the anti self defense ninnies believe that criminals are created by an unjust society and its unfair for a victim to kill a thug because, after all, the thug was forced to be a thug by society!

A lot of these kids today are in gangs that we just don't hear about. Oscar Grant was in a drug gang and had been arrested a host of times and was notorious, but that got left out of the movie I guess; and had he not been acting like an asshole on that BART train, he'd probably be alive today.
