Sheriff Babeu to Obama: Gun control won't stop mass shootings - YouTube

If you have the time to watch this....those for or against, your input would be interesting...

This video some what breaks my heart...... I work closely, with "Loss/risk Control"

We evaluate the risk and find measure to implement to avoid and future losses. I would think with an infinite budget and some of the smartest people in the world....... while not a simple solution a proper solution would be reasonable...

Fast forward to..... 3:50 for my initial point...

POTUS points out about an individual in China that was similarly unstable as the individual in Newtown, but because he had a knife, "most of them survived" because he did not have a semi automatic firearm.

So you are telling me, that just because he did not have a firearm, that makes the situation better? Because the was "less" loss of life that makes the situation better?

LOL..... I cannot believe what I am hearing.

Again as loss/risk control would take a look is there a constant factor? YES, Yes there is, an unstable person.... how do we handle these unstable people... Secondly, prior too, he discusses the Newtown individual that was unstable had "access" to an "Arsenal", the Next Loss/risk control question is, how did a young person that legally has no registration weapons to their name have "ACCESS" to this arsenal? Human Failure, yet again..... Firearms to be blamed for this, but yet a crazy person with a "Knife" constitute success in gun control....... common.....

Go back to the 3:10, He speaks about criminals, we dont know who or when criminals act. YET again going to another post.... we are being reactive, and not ProActive, why do we have to wait till a person, becomes an criminal before we act? Loss Control is the intent to prevent future losses. Why are we not implementing education, laws, help to those that need help PRIOR to them acting out or becoming a criminal......

we can blame firearms all we want.... but it takes a simple human trait to be derailed and the next thing you know they will have a firearm, knife, baseball bat etc.... but because a knife, baseball bat is not a firearm it makes it all better???

Thoughts?

The left thinks somehow they are going to change the character of America by incrementally wrapping more and more laws and regulations around everything that troubles them. We have two land borders and two coasts. Anyone who wants to deal in illegal firearms will be supplied.

The left refuses to see their limits of influencing human behavior. The rise in gun violence is due to drugs and the money attached to it.

No, what's going to happen is that the situation with the proliferation of guns and mass killings is going to continue to be out of control, and assault weapons are going to be banned.

Why? I like my rifle and have done nothing that should make it illegal.

We have more people OD'ing each week than gun crimes, and no one really gets their panties in a bunch about that.

The "at least it isn't so deadly" argument sounds great when you're talking about someone who just killed a classroom full of kids.

It doesn't sound anywhere near as good when you're the one facing down a criminal with a gun and the only thing you have to defend yourself is a knife because you chose to obey the law.

I'm talking about a freeze on sales of new rifles. You can keep yours. That's what the expired federal assault weapons ban was all about.

My point exactly...... Sad that we use "excuses" to justify another.....

Is sad that we would rather treat the symptoms, that the cause..... When you go to the doctor, initially they will give you something for the stomach pain, if it keeps happening, the doctor recommends, an Xray and some additional test. They find the "Root" of the problem and sometimes an operation or a change in diet helps....

With this case, they want to keep giving people pain medication rather than addressing the MAIN problem...... and justifying, a weaker medication so you dont get addicted to it....... SOUNDS ridiculous doesnt it?

still the same idiotic claims. you cannot even define an assault weapon and you are afraid to back up your nonsense with facts. The fact remains is that you live in California and you are subject to idiotic laws. and yo want the rest of America to be subjected to the stupid laws that the stupid citizens of California are saddled with because you all voted into office a bunch of assholes who want to ban guns because they don't trust you peasants to own them and because your state is full of low wattage morons who haven't figured out that those laws only harass honest people rather than stop say the san bernardino jihadist scum bags

and what the makers did was remove a few cosmetic features and they could continue to sell the rifles. applying Heller (firearms in common use and that are not UNUSUALLY Dangerous cannot be banned) to semi auto rifles, a ban on such rifles will violate the constitution especially if its at a federal level. SMART gun owners are stocking up on Normal capacity magazines. RECEIVERS for AR 15 style rifles are being gobbled up as fast as they can be made-one major distributor got in a couple HUNDRED ANDERSON (made in Northern Kentucky) receivers. I received a notice at 5.16 PM yesterday that they were in stock-at 6.00 PM they were completely sold out.

so smart people are putting away HUNDREDS of magazines and lots of receivers. Today I bought my wife a CZ EVO 9mm carbine and ordered 5 30 round magazines for it. will buy a bunch more before the elections. I also am buying 3-4 of the normal capacity (20 round) CZ competition magazines for my Tactical Sport race guns each month. as serious competitors, my family needs a bunch. the Bannerrhoids main goal is to harass honest shooters like us with their moronic laws. If the bannerrhoids really thought these weapons were so bad, they ought to try to pass laws confiscating the millions upon millions in private hands and the hundred million or more normal capacity AR 15 magazines in circulation. lets see what would happen if they try that (a butt kicking in the polls that would make the 94 election look like a minor blip)

Assault weapons look mean and have bayonets and grenade launchers and pistol grips and flashlights and lasers that make weapons look super duper mean and they are black. They are really really scary in the movies. Wood stocks look lots more friendlier.

I'd say nothing makes it more clear the gun control induces fear of an object and firearm owners need to figure that until they address that fear nothing will change. Perhaps preventing gun control from instilling even more with this fear is not such a bad idea.
