I agree with you, flogger, but also differ in one aspect.

I see the ability to defend myself and my loved ones from harm IS a human right.

A firearm, my .45 for instance, give me the ability to protect them from those villains more numerous, and stronger than me.

Even if those more numerous and stronger than me have guns, I am not intimidated. I KNOW my skills are better than most cops or crooks.

Only a firearm gives me the ability to exercise that basic human right.

I can see you have never been personally and physically attacked by a crook or group of crooks.

There are predators in our society who make a living out of attacking people, and know what they are doing, and have done it many, many times. Any defense we come up with in our heads is only from theory, not experience. Their attacks, on the other hand are all experienced and effective.

I was. and there was ZERO time to call anyone.

The Klan jumped me when I finished working on a Vietnamese shrimp boat. There were two of them, and both were on me in an instant. I was tired, and not paying attention as it was the last service call of the day. I still have the scar on my left thigh from that attack. Google Texas Shrimp wars sometime.

If an attack happens at my home, then yes, my wife can make the call, or if I feel I can just lock them out, I will also make the call, but make ready at the same time.

However, as you go about your day, there will be times when you have to mingle with other people in public situations. This is when they will strike, and you will have no time to get to your phone. Even if you do get to your phone, an they stand by and allow you to complete a 911 call, it WILL NOT PREVENT THE ASSAULT. I repeat, ...calling 911 WILL NOT PREVENT AN ASSAULT.

It will only report that assault.

Saying anything else reflects a lack of real world skills and knowledge.

I will pass on a wise adage I once heard....

" You will NEVER, in your life, see a more DISILLUSIONED person, than a liberal who has just been mugged ".

I already know from your post, you have not had that most pleasant of experiences......YET!

Once you do...I feel confident your attitude will change, and you will walk around looking like Rambo. I know you THINK you are Superman now and completely invulnerable from attack by anyone, it happens all the time.

...and with your mouth, know-it-all attitude, condescension, and overall ugly disposition......

I carry a gun EVERYWHERE. I also do not make a big deal about it, show it to anyone, or keep adjusting it like others do. My manhood is not connected to its barrel length.

It is a tool I will use if needed. Just like my Leatherman, I also carry everywhere I go.

My personality does not change when I am armed. I am the same calm, cool, and polite man I am at any other time.

If you read my ENTIRE signature line, you would see I am quoting Divergent, and it is what he said to me....on January 11th, 2016.

I am also quoting AbsentGlare for something equally stupid.

I just do no know how to separate their individual quotes. My signature line is very limited in space. I have no idea how all these other members have so many quotes in theirs, and they are not telling or sharing how when I ask.

Hell, it is also a military secret on how to post pics on here. All I get is half-assed instructions with zero detail.

So, you see, you are completely and 100% WRONG in saying my signature line is reflecting my thoughts. It is not. It is reflecting two absurd statements made by other members.

So,...It is no surprise, reading comprehension is not your strong point at all.
