Successfully proving that we will kill ourselves before ISIS ever gets the chance, a patriotic gun owner decided that the only way to make shooting his lawn mower better was to also rig the lawn mower to explode. What could POSSIBLY go wrong? The short answer is – a lot.

David Presley loaded up an old lawn mower with three pounds of Tannerite, which is a compound used to create exploding targets for use on shooting ranges. There’s no legitimate need for a target to explode, but hey – ‘Murica! Right?

Presley clearly didn’t read the instruction manual. Sheriff Joe Chapman told local news that you are supposed to use less than a pound of the explosive compound if you want to make an exploding target and you need to stand at least 100 yards away from it when you shoot.

This one example does not properly represent all.

There are just as many, if not more, examples of NON-gun owners doing things just a stupid that also cost taxpayers.

Actually he may not be. I'm holding out a sliver of hope he was just smart enough to get long term disability insurance. fingers crossed.

but still, this is not representative of up 80 million plus legal gun owners in the United States. At least I would think if we had 80 million cripples in this country I would've heard about it.

Millions of people text and drive. We need to end their driving privileges immediately. Millions of people drink and drive. Even if they drink a single drink and drive they must have their driving privileges removed from them. Millions do stupid things every year. We must bar those people from owning vehicles voting, and other extremely dangerous activities.

There are many people that seek to restrict peoples constitutional rights based on their own ideological bias and hatred. THOSE people are the ones that truly should be identified and removed from our society.

He screened himself pretty well. As you have a beer, ask yourself how many "responsible" people hurt or injure themselves or others after saying, "Hold my beer. Watch this." See, the difference between alcohol and firearms is that alcohol actually takes a responsible adult and can make them an idiot. A firearm does not physiologically alter the brain. This guy was ignorant of explosives. I have numerous pictures and case work on asshats that have blown themselves and others up; many of them drunk... So while you can use this incident to justify your bigotry, he did not endanger anyone with a firearm. He endangered himself with explosives and I would be willing to wager, alcohol...

I don't see how anyone could call placing 3 pounds of Tannerite, stand only 25 yards away blow it up as being responsible. Quite irresponsible, actually.

So casting this irresponsibility as being called responsible isn't accurate, but only serves your anti gun bias and ideology.
