I would like a new sub forum, right next to this one, titled Speech Control. Any way I could get the MODs to set that up for me?

Because, frankly, the 1st amendment was made before the internet, and other technological advances, and I am quite certain that our founding fathers had NO idea such technological advances would come to pass, and NO understanding of the extreme dangers posed but every citizen's ability to utilize free speech. With that in mind, I propose that we need to pass new regulations on the 1st amendment, starting with freedom of religion. Religion is possibly the single most dangerous thing on this planet, and yet, in this country, people can just go around worshiping whatever they want, without even having to REGISTER! We should, at the VERY LEAST, make those who wish to worship religions with documented track records and histories of violence, register with a central authority, in order to better keep track of these potentially dangerous individuals. Next, we need to have every citizen who would like to utilize free speech take classes on how to do so responsibly, for a nominal fee, of course. Naturally, we would need to set up some form of governing body to oversee these classes...and that body would need to be funded, so those fees will likely vary from county to county, and state to state. But it's a price we must pay in order to make ourselves more safe. Just how many people die EVERY year as a DIRECT result of people being allowed to say what they wish, more or less? Countless. Free speech leads people into confrontations with law enforcement, authority figures, and, with each other. All of this violence could very easily be curtailed if we but simply regulated this dangerous thing with good, logical, sensible legislation. Every year, more and more people die because we fail to act! Even worse, we allow our CHILDREN to utilize free speech! This is simply inexcusable! Children can in no way be trained in the proper use of speech until they are at LEAST 18. Allowing children to speak their minds is doing nothing but causing misery to each other every single year we allow it to go on.

So if you won't do it for yourself...do it for the children.

We need to establish some form of licensing system. Caught running around utilizing free speech without all the proper documentation and licenses, and it's fine or jail. How else would we be able to establish who is SAFE to utilize free speech, and who is untrained and potentially dangerous to the public? By listening to their words? Nonsense! By the time the bad words are spoken, the damage is DONE. No, too dangerous. We should have a waiting period for these things, too. Otherwise, someone might apply for the license, with an intent to turn right around and say something that could incite violence! I mean, just LOOK at the black lives matters movement!

All of that vitriolic violence and wanton destruction could have been avoided had we simply had waiting periods and licensing programs in place for the proper utilization of one's right to free speech.

And what about people just all around saying mean things, ignoring preferred pronouns, and wearing mean stickers? The founders could have never foreseen people would wear mean stickers. I think we need "common sense" sticker regulations.

Dang straight! All this "free speech" infringes upon my right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. How can anyone expect me to be happy and live my life while people run around saying mean things and expressing opinions I cannot agree with.

I'm all for an outright ban on improper use of words such as "too" and "there" on the internet. Seeing the way various variations of those words get tossed around has GOT to be criminal.

Exactly. And at times, in fact, MANY times, every single year, the words that come out of peoples mouths in this country lead to acts of violence.

Think about it. When someone kills someone else, unless they are some sort of demented individual, it is almost ALWAYS foreshadowed by speech. What I mean is, ultimately, it is the use of free speech that CAUSES the violence that leads to the death, be it by beating, shooting, poisoning, etc. Be that death accidental, as in "I didn't MEAN to kill him, just punch him a few times...", or, on purpose "I just saw red, and I wanted him to DIE."

Something ALWAYS happens before those types of incidents, and 9 times out of 10, that something is a verbal exchange. If we could simply CONTROL who can use free speech, and when and where they can use it, we could avoid a LOT of violence and death in this country. It would most likely eliminate most ALL gun deaths, with a few exceptions. You see, people, GUNS aren't the problem here. GUNS don't load themselves, and pull their own triggers. Pissed off people do, though. And how do these people get pissed off? Well, someone else does something, or, in many cases, SAYS something...to piss them off. Getting rid of guns only addresses a symptom of the real problem. The problem, the REAL problem...is freedom.

So, what? No one wants to come in and say hi, to this thread?

No one wants to engage? Everyone thinks this is a JOKE? Maybe I'm serious? MODs? Where are you? Do you not consider that I REALLY, truly want a new dept, one devoted JUST to speech control? I mean, if there is a dept devoted JUST to denying us our 2nd amendment rights, why, then, are our FIRST amendment rights off the table?

I demand satisfaction, and I WILL become progressively noisier until such satisfaction comes to fruition.

We already have all that; it's called Business School.

When was anyone required to pass business school to do any of the activities outlined

We have many firearm training facilities so your claim is specious at best. Do try and respond idea by idea so anyone knows what you are babbling about. I know it is difficult but you could at least try

The difference is you do not have trillion dollar pockets backing you and paying for propaganda to support your claims. So while in effect there is no difference do not expect fair treatment unless you can get several thousands like minded people to make as much noise, whinginging and whining like gun control.
